With the huge success of the PSN store it may really help consumers and developers.

1. You cut out the middle man making it possible selling at a lower price.
2. Developers can be more creative because there is no production of discs and the game cannot be resold used so they get 100% profit.

The only problem is that we need alot more hard drive space and faster downloads. So it might be a few years off before all of that happens. View

This seems like just a licensing issue but if Sony are trying to play "hardball" then wouldnt they be losing money on this deal?

And by the way I think this console war is kinda of stupid. It seems like all these companies are making a profit or at the very least will be.

There is alot of money being thrown around on the PSN/Live not to mention the games and Blu-Ray movies being sold. Even if Sony is losing on the PS3 dont they make that up by the cut from the games and Blu-Ray movies and the PSN/Video store?

It just hard to imagine these companies making games for system that is doomed. If the PS3 is "doomed" then why is KZ2 and RE5 coming out soon. And if the 360 is "doomed" then why did valve put out left 4 dead.
Who spends millions of dollars to make a game on a console that will fail?

Apparently the game is optomized to the brink for the PS3.
You have installs and alot of data and a game engine built from the ground up on the PS3.

If you wanted to keep the same quality without compression than it would take at least a few discs. Also there is no guarantee that it will be as good.

I mean I'm sure it would sell at least over million on the 360 but anyone that wanted to play MGS4 has a Ps3 probably. It might take a few people to make a half decent port with all the stuff that they did on the PS3.

It might be in KPs interest to just start working on a new game rather than trying port MGS4 if there are alot of man hours and troubles to go through to do it.

IMO though it should go to 360. I think this is a game any gamer should at least play through once as long as the quality of the game is driven into the ground by the port. View

I would like to think people that spend $400-$500 on something knows it plays games.

I know the PS3 is one of the cheapest Blu-Ray players but just because someone buys it for that reason surely knows it plays games as well.

People talk about all these sells figures.

Take a look at what each current gen consoles sells at a month. Then look back to the PS2 days and see how much was sold each month.

The Ps3 is putting up similar numbers back when the PS2 was just getting hot.

Just by pure sales numbers PS3 is just on the same track as the PS2 was.

The Wii is just doing better it doesnt mean the PS3 is doing bad.
Just for an analogy alot more people are going to by a Cavalier over a Corvette.

From what I've seen the PS3 and 360 are selling about equal rates with the PS3 trying to push ahead the last 5 months or so.

But that crap doesnt really matter. I dont think sales figures is how we should judge a console. Are they providing great games? Are they providing great features? Online gaming? Thats the stuff you need to look at not a sells number.

Its seems to me like all 3 are trying to provide us with great features, games and services even though how they approach this is different.

The analogy Im gonna use is movies.

There might be more enternaining games than MGS4 on just the gameplay but the overall package is unsurpassed.

Its kinda of like watching Toy Story saying its a very entertaining.

Then you watch something like No Country for Old Men understanding its a better movie but just not as entertaining as Iron Man or Transformers even though it is the better movie.

But I guess MGS4 is more like The Dark Knight if anything =)
So I guess that throws my theory out the window. View

MGS series really has more of an American story that I dont think people in other countries really get. For a Japanese developer it really goes in deep with American History and putting a twist on it. Even goes as far as loyalty to America via MGS3. I mean its the exact opposite of how I would think someone from another country would try and portray America.

There is some heavy deep stuff, especially in MGS3.

MGS4 on the other has two old men as the Protaganist and the antagonist. I dont think Japanese gamers relate well to that.
But I really think it hits hard an America though because it kinda reminds me of the movie No Country for Old Men. View

Im having this problem too.

It works on my sisters PS3 but its doing the freeze on mine. I will get back to you when go in and trade this one for another one and if that one doesnt work Im going to try and get my money back.
