I can't stand Word since they implemented the new layout. I can't figure out how to do any of the stuff that I used to know how to do with the program. They should have definitely made it an option to keep the classic layout. The new one is a piece of crap. I don't want picture icons for everything, I want clear, meaningful worded descriptions for each function. Classic design was perfect, new design is confusing, cluttered, poorly organized, and difficult for an old dog like me to have to relearn. So I said screw it and uninstalled it and reinstalled the older version that I'm familiar with. View

The only 360 exclusive I bought this year was Lost Odyssey, but that's a 2008 game I just didn't get around to buying until this year. I thought about Forza 3 because the single-level demo was fun enough, but I had enough other games to play that I decided not to get it. Rented ODST and absolutely hated it, didn't like the first Left 4 Dead, so I didn't try the sequel, don't like RTS games so I avoided Halo Wars, and I didn't like GTA 4 so I didn't try the Episodes from Liberty City. I was interested in Star Ocean IV but by the time I actually started to consider buying it, I heard about the PS3 version and figured it sounds like the version to play, so I'll wait for that. In 2009, the 360 had the worst full year of any console any year this generation, in my opinion. Forza 3, the GTA 4 DLC, and Left 4 Dead 2 are the only ones that seem to be actually high quality games, but they just weren't interesting to me personally, so for me it was a really lackluster year. In 2007, PS3 also had Eye of Judgment (I'm a huge fan, though it's definitely a niche title), Folklore (hugely underappreciated gem of a game), and Unreal Tournament III (didn't come to 360 until 2008, and the PS3 version is much better than the later-released 360 version because of mod support & keyboard/mouse support). "we're selling every unit we can manufacture"

I noticed that during most of the day yesterday, Amazon.com listed the PS3 as "Out of Stock." View

Dammit! I really want Vagrant Story on the NA store. Is it coming anytime soon, or at all? View

Totally deserved! I've been saying this every since some lame reviewers started handing out 7's to this game because it wasn't different enough from its predecessors. If you were a fan of the series at all prior to this game, then you would NOT agree that it's too much like its predecessors. The story alone makes it a must for any fan of the series. The humor is pitch-perfect, the story is just downright epic, and the ending is amazing. And if you've never played many of the games in the series before (or any of them), then that "too much of the same thing" argument obviously is meaningless to you, too. This is a very under-rated game. It totally deserved to be 90+ at metacritic. I give it a 10 out of 10. The graphics are astonishing, the frame-rate holds steady at a perfect 60 fps, the story is epic, the characters are hilarious, the level designs and puzzles and weapons and everything else are just downright fun and awesome. I love this game. I already played through it 3 times and got the platinum trophy. Glad to see someone give it an award! View

Both games had moments for me where I had to just stop and looking around amazed at the stuff I was seeing. The first place that truly gave me that feeling in Killzone 2 was the level where you start by the water on your right and then you go through the sewer drain pipe with the electrical sparks flying down in front of it, it was a while ago that I played KZ2, so I can't remember if that was the 2nd or the 3rd level. I was just astonished at the lighting and textures there, at the water, at everything, and there were more moments in that one level where I had to just stop and look around. A lot of the interior parts of the game had me stopping in my tracks to observe the incredible lighting as it bounced off of the walls and how my shadow played in the light.

For Uncharted 2, the first real jaw-dropper moment came in the Himalayan village that you wake up in with all the yaks. The village was just so realistically detailed, and the mountains with the snow-capped peaks and the vegetation down at the bottom of the cliffs, and everything in general was just awesome looking.

Both games are ridiculously pretty to look at. View

But Batman's not a new IP. It's a new take on an old IP. But that doesn't make it a new IP. View

Yeah, I'm excited for Crackdown 2. That song in the trailer was awesome! I hope it comes in April. I've seen tons of kickass January, February, March, and May games announced, we just need something for April! View

Does the North American version have the same bug as the Asian version where if you play online, the game will randomly reset all of your tendencies to neutral? It was a real pain in the butt getting the platinum trophy because of that bug when I played the Asian release. I couldn't keep my pure black and pure white tendencies to get some of the items needed for the trophies. So I eventually just started playing offline so my tendencies wouldn't revert to neutral. They pretty much completely stopped moderating copyrighted material in LBP shortly after that fiasco started, though. You can find all kinds of stuff on there right now that's based on movies, tv shows, comics, other (non-sony) games, etc. There are actually tons of Mario levels in LBP right now, there's music ones where you ride a conveyor belt and hear an LBP rendition of the Mario theme music, there's level based on Mario Kart in LBP, there's levels with the Mario characters and designed just like Mario Bros. levels, etc. They really started to ease up on the copyright moderations. Why replace your DVDs when you can just start buying movies you never owned before on Blu-Ray? And... too expensive? I went out shopping yesterday and I bought Inglorious Basterds on Blu-Ray for 20 bucks while the DVD was 23 dollars. And I see this quite regularly lately where the DVD is more expensive than the Blu-Ray. At Amazon right now, it's like this:

The Hangover:
Blu-Ray ... $17.99
Single-Disc DVD ... $19.99
2-Disc DVD ... $24.99

Inglorious Basterds:
2-Disc Blu-Ray ... $17.99
Single-Disc DVD .. $19.99
2-Disc DVD ... $24.99

District 9:
Blu-Ray ... $17.99
2-Disc DVD ... $22.99

Public Enemies:
Blu-Ray ... $19.99
2-Disc DVD ... $21.49

See my point? It's easy, now, to find Blu-Rays for cheaper than you can get DVD's. And there's plenty of classics available for 10 dollars, 7 dollars, even less, on Blu-Ray now. Blu-Ray really isn't that expensive anymore. View

One could argue that the reason it outsells the PS3 these days is because they keep giving deals which significantly reduce the price and increase the value. Without said deals, would it outsell the PS3? View

I wonder if there's any Microsoft incentive for retailers to continue giving so many discounts for the 360, or if it's entirely retailer-based initiative? View

I just picked it up and played it for about an hour. Not as cool as Diablo 2 was but it's fun for the 10 bucks I paid. No multiplayer, though? That was the main reason to play Diablo 2! View

"Before a game with a gun, some action, and a cool story could actually receive a Teen rating, now almost anything with a gun and blood is brandished with a Mature rating. Kids games that should be rated E getting Teen for “comic mischief.”"

I dunno. The first Ratchet & Clank games were rated Teen, but all of the R&C Future games, which have just as much innuendo and double entendre in their humor, and just as much gunplay and explosive action, are now rated Everyone 10+. InFamous and Uncharted 1 & 2 have a lot of bad language and violence and they're rated Teen. He makes it sound like a game like Uncharted 2 with bad language, violence, and blood would be rated Mature, but it's not. I don't think it's wrong that Dante's Inferno got a Mature instead of an AO. But I do think it's wrong that Halo gets a Mature. That game should be Teen all the way. So freakin' weird: Uncharted 2 has more bad language, sexual innuendo, bone-crushing violence and blood, and yet it's Teen but Halo is Mature. Haha. View

I gladly paid 36 dollars (Amazon.com price with free shipping) for this set. Much better than the original versions... prettier and runs smoother, plus trophies added some life and objectives to the game. And all for the price of what buying the PS2 versions individually would cost, so I consider it a great deal. View

We're really going to talk about Game of the Year 2010 already? Ridiculous. We don't even know what any of the end-of-year games are going to be, yet, and it's usually an end-of-year game that nabs the prize, so we can't really talk about GOTY yet. View

I completely disagree with this title. What about Heavenly Sword or Ninja Gaiden II? They were both clearly next generation action games. Even Devil May Cry IV, though I'm not a Devil May Cry fan so I didn't particularly get into that game (also not particularly interested in Bayonetta because it plays a lot like Devil May Cry, and as I said I never liked Devil May Cry that much, but Bayonetta definitely looks better than DMC so I will try it out some day).
