There's a difference...
They put all of the hardware and settings used for the test, along with driver versions and software configuration. You didn't list any of that, so for all we know you're matching apples to apple pie. View

Do many people do transcoding?
It seems like very few people use the GPU for transcoding. I wonder what the real percentage of GPGPU users is? View

Always good for a laugh.
No matter what I think about the game, any Zero Punctuation review I watch is always good for a few laughs. View

Radeon HD 4890 beats GTX 285
The Radeon HD 4890 beat an overclocked GTX 285 in the Deep Freeze tests of 3dMark06, and nearly matched it in the Canyon flight tests as well. The HD4890 matched performance again in CoD4 at 1680x1050, and trailed behind the overclocked GTX 285 by only four frames in all of the Crysis tests. In Devil May Cry 4 the HD4890 was a mere two frames behind the ENGTX285 TOP, and beat it in FarCry 2. So considering we used a reference Radeon HD 4890 for testing, and an overclocked TOP edition GTX 285, it looks perfectly reasonable to presume the HD4890 would beat a stock-speed GTX 285 in those tests it matched performance or was close. So many unpunished corporate crimes this year, it's no surprise that consumer confidence is at an all-time low! View

I've been asking my contacts this very question...
I've been asking my contacts this very question for the past few months. I honestly don't see how the PC enthusiast market can sustain the hardware growth without matching software; and on the other hand, I don't know how the console market can remain competitive when the games are not backwards compatible.

Simply put, each has a long list of cons. Technology is a like a dog chasing its tail. We can wait and miss out, or wait and save money, or wait and jump on the next wave. It's all cyclical. View

The author mentions that this is only for the extreme overclocker that has more money than they can put to good use. Anyone else would be better off with an i7-920. View

If Mac began using the Core i7 with SSD's...
If Mac began using the Core i7 with SSD's, there would be no stopping them. I am, and almost always have been a PC user; primarily because of the hardware. However, if Apple began building a better computer, then people like me would have good reason to finally say goodbye to Microsoft (and I'm a MCSA who makes a living off of MS products). View

Where are all the enthusiasts at?
Considering that these three coolers represent the three best CPU cooling products in the world, I figured that there would be more dialog about the article. View

Great for hardcore overclockers... but too much tech for everyone else.
The BIOS is suited for extremely experienced overclockers, and the motherboard itself is full of great features, but this isn't going to be a good fit for everyone. View
