Well i hope the people who entered your store told you where to go.
If i buy something from a shop, and it breaks/is already broken upon opening, its getting returned to the shop i bought it from, and nowhere else.
Maybe your managers need to re-read the Sales of Goods Act?
• Wherever goods are bought they MUST "conform to contract". This means they must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality (i.e. not inherently faulty at the time of sale).
Now, this is just for the UK, but, im sure theres a similar law in other countries that protects a customer from defective items.
