ah that's fair, it's easy to forget that not everybody takes quite such an interest in hardware/tech.

But that is where the reading comes into play, take the time to learn the finer details of what makes a good TV a good TV. Examine what your needs are and relate these to what choices are avaliable to you (or what you can afford).

When investing such a large chunk of cash it's always worth taking the time to educate yourself. Plus it looks good when your mates come round and you can sound like a tech guru reeling off all your tasty new tech specs ;) View

If your really in the market for a new HDTV, forget this "guide". Do some research, read user comments and familiarise yourself with the features and figures that are important to you and go from there.

There are such a wide array of options and styles out there, take your time, you dont want to drop £1000 to see a better model next week for similar money. Read and Research and you shouldn't go wrong. View

Not overly concerned by what caused the problem but the news of it's fix is welcomed.

Also, I thought the console simply suffered from freezing, forcing the user to manually reset it? If that is correct I'm not sure why the word "Bricked" is being used. View

I agree, the problem still exists, perhaps the current Elite's aren't as prone as the previous SKU's but like you said, 10 minutes on google and you can find a host of complaints.

Now the the original articles, which were written for newspapers would tend to be over exaggerated, remember, they're trying to sell their paper first and foremost, in fact these daily rags (not so much the Telegraph) have even been found to fabricate stories completely.

I think I'll sit on the fence with this one, Id like to believe MS but the problems are still apparent (regardless how wide spread they maybe), and the papers well, I'm never going to be 100% on their figures, they're quite happy to embellish the truth to fit there objective. View

While I applaud your efforts of support after Sony's quick response to the 2.4 problems, getting 2.4 right the first time round would of been better.

It's not completely right to commend then for fixing a problem they caused.

I hope they jump on the trophies as quickly as they did this, I've got all of SSHD's now. View
