I have troubles believing that they are having quality control issues on Sony slot loading Blu-ray drives...
You would think that the slot load drive that is used in the PS3 would be of sufficient quality to be used in Macbooks. If it isn't good enough for the laptop it would not be good enough for a console due to the fact a slot loading mechanism in a console is used significantly more often then it would be in a Notebook. I admit I would love to see it released as one in NA and EU as well
I would be a first day buyer! View

Hmm, This is yet another sign that the TT takeover by EA would be the end of a era...
If Thompson thinks something is good - there is something very wrong with the whole thing. View

The prof does make a point... About the lack of imagination.

Games like Army of Two don't really bring anything new to any genre and don't really change how we think about games.
Games to really stand out now need to bring something new, something exciting beyond just FPS/TPS and online play.

He is also right that it is easier to localize a violent game to worldmarkets rather then humor or other types of games.
Humor has never translated well - some companies do a good localization job on things like this (it takes a talented localizer with a great sense of humor in two cultures) and others just suck.
Political commentary in games is even harder to localize - completely different government systems and different viewpoints of the same situation are hard to show and if your viewpoint is opposed then the commentary is completely wasted. View

not just possible
100% likely as they just posted this on the source website:

Update: to everyone that saw fit to email in: yeah, it's a joke. We know. Needed more sarcasm smilies, huh? Hey, it's Friday afternoon. Go get a beer or something. View

There is also a "VERY" limited edition Canadian PS3
A nice red colour. View

If you bother to read the article - this is their summation:

Graphics: Great art design, and the PS3’s graphical grunt looks
super.

Sounds: Everything sounds as it should, although a little
monotonous.

Control: Non-standard control system that gets the job done.

Gameplay: Good level design and combat, let down by poor enemy
A.I

Verdict: It’s not a classic, but you’ll definitely have fun!

I bought it and I would also say this is a fair assessment of the game. View

This is the reason developers generally use PR people now.
1 misstated phrase and people put their own spin on what is said.
Ever wonder why companies like Apple, Sony, and Microsoft don't allow their developers normally to talk about their product?

(KZ2 being an exception - and even there on the Playstation Forums the developers have a specific list of stuff they are not allowed to address at all) View

Wow... so a none certified accessory caused the issue.
I am so surprised, oh wait... I'm not. View

he isn't argueing that there are no bad ports... He is just stating that a previously held belief is no longer accurate.

"The notion that PlayStation 3 ports are inherently inferior to Xbox 360 simply doesn't hold water these days." View

They state up front that it's not all multiplatformers but newer ones that are starting show that the PS3 and the X360 versions are very close:

"The common wisdom is that Xbox 360 versions are typically better than their PS3 counterparts, and this is true in part. The PlayStation 3 2006 launch lineup was choked with quickie ports that did little to tap into the system's power, and a few high-profile games (Madden 08, for one) were undeniably superior on the Xbox 360. But as you'll soon see, that trend is changing...and fast.

By picking apart four recent, triple-A multi-platform games--Assassin's Creed, Burnout Paradise, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and Devil May Cry 4--we're aiming to settle the contest over which console has the advantage in multi-platform releases moving forward. This is more than just gazing at screenshots--we're delving deep to discover the best controls, loading times, and online integration. "

They also make special mention of Black Site and Orange box as being examples of where this statement does not apply:

"Judging by what we've seen with these recent games, you may be better off picking up PlayStation 3 versions of high-profile multi-platform games for the time being. The notion that PlayStation 3 ports are inherently inferior to Xbox 360 simply doesn't hold water these days. Some games do perform worse on Sony's console--Blacksite: Area 51 has been plagued with performance issues, for instance, and The Orange Box suffers from groan-inducing load times and chugging framerates. It's nice to see people actually respecting the DEV for his response.
I am glad he did rewrite three times - His reply shows his thoughtfulness without recourse to ripping the posters head off.
He did show the poster to be an idiot but in a clear and nonrantful manner. View

KZ2 was in development at least a year in advance of the Launch of the PS3 putting it squarely into three years + of development so far. View

They do have some points though....

especially about the insulting racist jerks and anger management cases you run into online - I don't enjoy those so called gamers.

I say so called because I don't include them in my definition of Gamer and why should my enjoyment be limited by idiots like them...

I always have wished for a meta level kick function - kicks the idiot offline forever - based on number of kick votes garnered across all games. View

Looks like it is free to download
but to access the BT Openzone I bet you have to pay BT an access fee

"he Go!Messenger client will be available to download by selecting the Go!Messenger icon found under the Network menu on the PSP. Follow the instructions and download the client from the website"

Alone in the Dark

Someone must have forgot to tell Eden Games and Atari.....
since they both appear to believe it is coming to the PS3

http://www.edengames.com/ga...

maybe you are confused due to the fact that Eden Games is doing the PS3/X360/PC version and Hydravision Entertainment is doing the Wii and PS2 version? View

1) what is play
2) keep costs down
3) he's just F* us... View

of course this is just from looking at the video

it is possible that the framerate drops through the floor when multiples of enemies/npcs on the screen.... T_T View
279 days 21 hours ago
The framerate drop that is alluded to is minor - actually watch the video in the review. Oooh... 40-45ish fps vs 60 fps- both are smooth and emanately playable.

and the actual images are much clearer on the PS3 - check out the detail on the still shots they have of the game at the end of the article.

That said... I am kinda sad that Capcom didn't get the framerates up. View

Terra Arcanum was easily game of the year material. View
