It's a flamebait article to someone who is a fanboy of a system (in this case, the PS3). Now, I have been a Sony fan since the launch of the PS1, but I am not going to give them a free ride. It is a legitimate issue that you'd have to be pretty ignorant to ignore. Is PSN a decent system? Absolutely. Is it improving? Absolutely, the new store is a great example. Is it there yet? No. Have we been promised things over, and over again for the past 2 years? Yes. Have most of them been delivered on? No.
When I have HOME on my PS3, when I have invites, messaging and all that sort, that will be a HUGE boost to the system. The problem is, that doesn't resolve the most glaring issue of content. People have bought game machines, since the Atari 2600, for the purpose of playing games. The added functionality of watching movies, listening to music, are great improvements, but for most people, it is a perk, not the core appeal of the hardware.
As I pointed out in the article, they could have TONS of great content up on the console selling systems, but it's not there. I know a few people who bought Xbox 360's JUST to play Arcade games, which is a very strong endightment for having a strong lineup of downloadable titles for your system.
Everything in Sony land is NOT peachy right now, even though it is much improved over last year. To wave your arms and say "flambait!" any time someone posts an article that isn't to your liking, is ignoring reality. I posted a very well thought out piece on the subject, if you disagree, that's fine, but to say that it is flamebait is unfair.
