I played Conan. Was actually pretty excited about getting it too. But after the third level with no variation on the fighting, no real story elements, and no variety in the boss fight formula I just gave up and sold the game. View

I find that the only games that I have ever played in multiplayer for any amount of time are games that I have really enjoyed the single player experience. Guitar Hero: Areosmith, Call of Duty 4,and Tiger Woods '09 are the only games that I have spent more than a few game in multiplayer and that is because I was able to fully enjoy the single player game so that i felt that i was ready to compete against other players.

Some games I have played seem to have a single player just for the practice of multiplayer. It seems tacked on and less than an afterthought. When that happens I feel that I have wasted my money and end of exchanging the game for something that I know I will play again.

P.S. - The only games that I have more played and beaten more than 5 times are Metal Gear Solid 4 and Uncharted and Uncharted doesn't even have a multiplayer. View

I wish I had $5 for every time that someone said that digital downloads will eliminate hard copies of anything. Isn't that what they said about newspaper when the internet became widely avaible?

I don't know about you but I am never going to buy into DD's as there are too many uncertainties related to it. When I buy a DVD I know that it will work because all I have to is put it into my player and turn it on. With DD's I have to make sure that I have enough memory, enough bandwidth, the capability of keeping my system on while the movie dl'ing plus I have to worry about the connection failing while the movie is dl'ing.

Please stop talking about DD's as the future as we all know that it will never happen.

P.S. - Please tell of any other time in history where someone will give up the right to have a secure hard copy of a product in exchange for a digital copy. Because the only thing I can think of is credit cards and look how secure those things are. View

Not once is this guy blowing anything out of proportion, nor is he saying that people are putting their lives into their consoles hands. What he is saying is that there is a history with of fires and one death that can be traced to the XBOX. But, as of right now, there is at least one fire that can be traced to the XBOX 360. Yes, it is a luxury item. Meaning that you spend money on it when you have extra money to spend. When you do that you still do expect that luxury item to do what it is supposed to do and not break down so easyily. The blog is pointing out exactly your indifference to this kind of shoddy craftsmanship. You spent your money on it. They refuse to hold up their end of the bargain by giving you a quality system for the money that you spent. Why are you not mad? More people are killed by guns as well, so? You are diflecting the issue by saying that he should just be focusing on something else. Besides there are plenty of programs that limit peoples exposure to peanuts AND guns, but none that really force system makers to make a really good product unless it starts to hurt people. That is also fualty logic because MS knows that the XBOX 360 is a fualty product but they refuse to do anything about. It is only now that they are starting to fix things and even now it is taking far too long for the money that people spend on the system.

I played the game too. Found nothing beyond the controls of the boat to complain about. The boat seemed to only want to turn to the right, but only when I wasn't moving forward. Other than that there was nothing that made me wish I hadn't bought the game (except that it was so damn short). View

The waste is not in the money. They are only doing their jobs and their job is to speak for the people. They are doing what they think the people they represent want them to do. The only problem is that the people they represent are uninformed and lazy. Another reason that the system can't change is because of bureaucracy. Everything needs a rubber stamp from ten different people before it will even be looked at be a senators intern. The way that the system is designed it is impossible for real change to happen unless everyone wants it. No one wants change to happen because they are comfortable with the way things are. Just listen to what people say, they want a free market but then they also want the products of that free market to be tightly controlled. The only way to get real change is for the whole system to be overhauled and restart from square one. But who has the courage or ingenuity to do that? View

I think this shows some truth in the debate into wether video games cause violence, only it shows it to be the other way around. Instead of causing violence they seem to be using video games to desentize people to violence.

How can I explain? Pretend you are playing the original DONKEY KONG, in the arcade and everything. You work very, very hard and spend your well earned money in order to get the highest score possible. Then i come along, pay the owner of the arcade to let me program a higher score onto to the list. HALO came out last gen and GEARS came out last year (almost). Sony has MGS4 out this year. Speaking of people with no clue, have you not noticed absolutely no exclusives coming out for the 360 that haven't already been announced years ago? Sure Sony may delay FW and even it games, but it always delivers exactly what it says it will. MS on the other hand started making the XBox as a way to add a third party into the console war. They started strong with HALO and a few other titles but after a while it just became one game after another with no real staying power in any one of them. Now they are so far out of the game that the only way they catch up is to buy their way back into the game. Sort of like the annoying little brother who is always tagging along.

Your argumant makes no sense. you are saying that it is unethical for you to take money that you have legally (hopefully :P) made and spend it on something that you want. This is different than what MS is doing. What they are doing is akin to pirating. They are going to be making money off of something that they had no part in developing just because they have the money to buy it.

I don't even know what you are talking about when it comes to online content. For GTA IV, MS BOUGHT the rights to not only getting the online content but also PAID to make sure that sony will not get it until much much later. That obviously has nothing to do with the abilities of either systems online capabilities. MS is just paying people to make sure that nothing else happens that they don't want to happen. View
