Is it possible to have fun with 10 year old game?

I am not RTS genre fan, i don't dislike genre but never was a fan, probably because i am console gamer even if some games are better on PC. One of the games/genre that should be only played on PC are RTS games and oddly in last week a began playing Starcraft...for first time!
