I guess the question is though, if it is used solely for the purpose of playing blu-ray movies, then wouldn't it be cheaper just to get a stand alone blu-ray player?
Some people earlier on were stating about the processing power of the 360 in conjunction with the blu-ray. But if the point of the add-on is solely for watching movies, do you really need a lot of processing power?
Also, what about all of the early adopters to the 360 who don't have hdmi outputs? If they were interested in a blu-ray player, then they would be missing out on the full experience of a true hd movie.
And I can only imagine what the price would be for it. If a 120GB HDD attachment goes for 130.00 right now, one can only surmise that the blu-ray add on would be at least 150.00 minimum, and that might be a conservative estimate given Microsoft's pricing policy on their accessories.
The only advantage that I can see to this, and I might be wrong, is if Microsoft utilizes the Blu Ray as a storage media for games.
However, you are now alienating a lot of your current install base that will feel they have no choice but to adopt
