NOTHING is better than that in-house competition~ Who cares if you are king online: you don't even know them!

I can't believe that some games (like Airborne) don't even have System Link for 360....WTF? View

Not necessarily. Graphics in COD4 are great; in split screen they are still excellent. View

Split Screen A MUST!
Why is the Wii picking up so many sales? Because you can sit around with a bunch of mates or family and play against each other in Wii Sports for eg.

Games like Medal Of Honor Airborne don't even get played online anymore...it is a waste of the developer's effort and time if there is no offline multi for those who want to play anytime with friends and/or family like you can with Call of Duty. (Though why all the COD4 maps aren't included in split-screen is beyond me).

A lot of us have bigger TVs now that can handle split-screen; sure it's not the best, but online has its own problems: lag, finding a game, drunk idiots who do nothing but swear and sing, pervs, and online commandos who train up for multi like it was 'real' instead of 'fun'.

If you are going to make a multiplayer, just include split screen. Then everyone's happy. Not that hard. View

Yeah I wonder if too much Batman will ruin it or even be profitable. Especially with the Dark Knight one; not sure there is much to play as really...it was more of a visual experience with good writing that may not translate well to video game. View

For the PS3 we have to change power (we have much higher voltage) and we can't watch all blu-rays, but we can play all games (as they are region free). As for 360 games or packs, some are region free and some are not: EA games are not. View

And you can get old Pro 360s for $388 at WOW. Who's going to buy all that kit for that price, over a hundred more than the console itself??? View

That's just silly that renewal costs so much. Magazines drop prices for renewal to keep you, Microsoft should do the same.

I'm still not sold on the worth of Live and when it costs $80-100AUD, I'm even more reluctant to think it worth it. Sure I'd pay that if they monitored the service more and provided a more family-friendly game zone (like in the gamercards: eg. family, casual, hardcore, underground...). Some of the stuff that goes on is ridiculous. View

The best part of ALone in the Dark was the soundtrack! Seriously, sound is very important for immersion and I'm glad game-makers are making the effort. View

Is the Witcher coming to consoles? View

Yeah the Wheelman got delayed too, but I think that'll be good for it. I wish ALone in the Dark had been delayed again so they could sort some of it out!! Now I hear the PS3 version will have more work done to it because it is a later version.....they should have done it for the 360 version too! View

My information is that only the names of the drugs have been changed in the new submitted version. Could be wrong, but I'd bet that was the only problem. View

I don't agree: the problem with Assassin's Creed wasn't that it's controls were too simple...that was fine. The problem was the repetition of missions and the total lack of importance of the Kingdom area. It needed better gameplay, not more complicated controls. View

Though I don't agree with everthing said, there are some points to be made about how hardcore gamers see gaming and how potential casual gamers don't.

I'm happy gaming is losing the 'nerd' status and becoming more mainstream. More mainstream hopefully means more money into the industry which will hopefully translate into better games with more depth of experience with more simplicity of interaction. View

I don't think it is only about having very simple 'Wii play' type games only, I think it is about making deep and intelligent games too...only more accessible to more people.

I never played any MGS fully (wasn't my thing) but MGS4, despite the usual long winded cinematic and conversations, was great fun even for those who have not played the series before. You could play it as an advanced MGS gamer and do the sneak around and gadget approach, or if you wanted to you could play it Call of Duty style...You also have difficulty levels. This flexibility made it a game for more gamer types.

I play my 360 more than the PS3, but MGS sort of gives the idea of making games flexible for more casual gamers as well as for hardcore gamers. View
