... But it reflects what has been shown by Sony products so far.

They focus too much into numbers instead of sould and identity of their games. They promise 1080p, 60 - 200 players online, 20 hours of gameplay, etc... numbers, numbers, numbers... and while in a pretty decent amount of cases they deliver, they still fall in the same mistake of losing focus on what makes a game a groundbreaking IP: Substance, the same substance and identity that make Halo and Gears of War milestone titles which each iteration. Resistance 2 NO. A game with 87% on Metacritic can't be a GOTY contender.

Props to Sony for having two titles in there, that's a real achievement, however the article exaggerates (well, the title "psxtreme" is a give away as of why) by mentioning 3 titles.

Just for the record, they also mentioned it would be the first time something similar happens, which is false. Past year the Xbox 360 had 3 strong contenders for GOTY:

Halo 3
Mass Effect
Bioshock View

And gamers should also. A franchise with low sales means a franchise without a sequel or with a sequel with minimal, so sales are a big concern for gamers as well.

I believe Sony will keep pushing LBP no matter what but it undeniable that if it was released on time, it would've sold more. Now it's pretty much lost in the sea of big titles. View

So you're returning your Xbox 360 because of the No sound bug?

Oh, and of course "you're getting a PS3". What a convenient comment.

Anyways, for those who ACTUALLY are getting this problem, there's a temporary solution:

- Take off your HDD while the system is off
- Turn on your system
- After the dashboard loads, plug in the HDD

Your system should automatically reboot with the audio enabled once again. Don't worry, this does not do any damage to the 360, HDD or save data.

This should work fine until Microsoft releases a patch. These problems are to be expected in a 25 million user base console, at least it isn't bricking consoles like some other infamous updates.

Comments like these, are also to be expected. Microsoft delivered in time and quality, something the competition needs to learn, you know, users also get tired of the regular "Ready when it's done" comment. View

About the review

Sneaky way of trying to make it look as if it had as many Cons as Pros.

TechRadar review is much more comprehensive and interesting. The main point of this is that the interfase is better, more user friendly, FASTER and you can do a lot of things you could not do in the past (Full Blade at any point, Game installations, Parties, etc...)

In short it DOES deliver, and PrimeTime will be available down the road. It's the best console OS upgrade ever made and pretty much period. If Sony will be able to outdo this we'll know with time (problem is, how much more time??) but in the present there's only one product out there and it's leaps and bounds above what available in other consoles.

(By the way, the kid writing the article should learn that "From" uses only one "f") View

Laughgable

This must have been written by a 11 year old PS fanboy.

Arstechnica's article was pretty clear: The Xbox 360 is selling much, much more 3rd party software than any other console. Yes it has a much bigger fanbase than Sony but as the time of writting, that's the reality of the market. Not that Sony is catching up fast by the way.

These guys (in the fanboyish article) says that Sony is doing a "great job" catching up in the US. It seems that they haven't watched the latest NPD data where the Xbox 360 has already outsold this year's PS3 sales and is poised to out do October's performance with Gears of War 2.

In short, this article is rubbish. View

There are times...

There are times when you can make a solid spin without making you look stupid. For example, if you dominate in the Software realm or if there are supply factors involved.

This is not the case here. There's no way Sony can spin the fact that it's been outsold Year-to-date by Microsoft just before the month of its biggest title (Gears 2) and that your two "biggest" launch for the month have performed, well, miserably... at least considering the "hype" behind them.

This has probably been the worst month of them all for Sony this year, in both software and hardware figures, and things may look even worse in November. Comparing this with your own figure as if there was no competition and in a market where you used to be the undisputed dominant male makes you look, really, really bad my dear Sony rep. View

Year to Date

Maybe the PS3 has outsold the Xbox 360 YTD, which doesn't mean it has outsold it in the second Half or if it will sell more by the end of the year.

From September to December, Xbox 360 has been poised to perform splendidly, and it's doing it. The new wave of bans will also help pushing more console (like it or not)

Said this, this is far to be the Year of the PS3. If anything, 2008H1 has the "Half Year" of the PS3, but ending last, by a considerable margin isn't precisely a good indication for Sony.

As the article says, better luck next year? Probably, Microsoft won't drop the Xbox price any further in the foreseeable future and Sony has quite a bunch of big hitters for 2009 (GT5, God of War 3, FFXIII in Japan) and a price cut will be unavoidable. That is 2009 though. View

I was actually extremely surprised about this review. PSU is known for having quite marked bias in favor of everything surrounding the Playstation 3. If they give this game 8.5 after playing it quite a bit, it means that the game deserves that score at most. Earlier reviews couldn't properly evaluate the online portion of the game. View

It's industry related, it's based on facts and it was a common question among gamers. How would LBP perform after the delay, and in front of Gears of War 2? Well, this is the answer. I bet if it was the opposite many of these guys complaining would be dancin on one foot. View

The Delay killed it

Little Big Planet was absorbed by the hype juggernaut that Gears of War 2 is. It didn't even manage to beat Fifa (1 month old) or Fallout 3 (2nd week)

This can be because of two things.

1. The game will have a more casual reach, which will be seen in the following months.

2. This game is not either casual or hardcore enough to appeal a massive pice of either market. View

Actually, the PS3 is not Outselling the Xbox 360.

If you READ the article, you'll see that it was outselling it until September. Then they tied and the PS3 was surpassed in October.

Considering we're in Novemeber now, after Gears of War 2 launch, all chances are that the Xbox 360 is outselling once again the PS3 this month, and until the end of the year.

So, what this says is what we all knew. the PS3 WAS outselling the Xbox 360 and now the tables have turned. View

The PS3 was outselling the Xbox 360 in Europe before September. Then it got even and was surpassed in October. November will be even bigger for Xbox 360, let alone December.

There's no point of comparison between them. The CG shots are taken from a video while the others are direct feed from the game.

As good as KZ2 might look, if you put both videos in motion you will see how the animations, psychics, overall detail (texture, faces, etc...) is immensely superior in the CG trailer. No matter of discussion anyways, that's why it CGI. View

It seems that being the best version in consoles has decided the fate of this game. Piracy, on the other hand, keeps killing PC gaming. View
