I agree with the first point a lot. That's why I'm disappointed at the fewer and fewer split screen games available. They're forcing people to not play with real friends and turn to online friends when playing a console. Next thing you know, your "best friend" is some person you met on the internet, a thousand kilometres away, and the reason s/he is your "BFF" is because they saved you online. Honestly, there's just some fun that can't be replicated online. (Wii is exempt though).

My, have we gone a step backwards from the N64 and PS2 games where so many of them offered split screen. Console gaming is turning to a single person affair now. For a person who only owns a PS3, and bought it to play a couple great/big games with my brother or friend, it's disappointing to see that not many big upcoming exclusives have split-screen or offline co-op. The last time I had an enormous amount of fun was playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Motorstorm 2 and LBP, but they eventually get stale (LBP doesn't suffer from that as much, but i still gets old). View

I think that Burnout Paradise has deformation that's equal or better than Dirt 2. Maybe a tiny bit over exaggerated, but at least the car can crumple a lot.

Does anyone know which of the upcoming exclusives to look for has split-screen? The lack of big split-screen games concerns me right now, so I'm wondering if any of those have it? I think Gran Turismo 5 has it. View

Wow, Naughty Dog is certainly the best PS3 developer at the moment, creating graphics that are (arguably) unsurpassed by any others on the system. If they evolve the gameplay from Uncharted 1, this may be a contender for game of the year.

But one person that should also be given praise to is Greg Edmonson, the composer. After giving a memorable theme to the first Uncharted, he continues this greatness by creating the wonderful, emotional music witnessed in this trailer, which, I'm sure, is just a precursor to to a score for Uncharted 2 that matches the music from movies. Seriously, this guy deserves to score big films (while still being able to score the Uncharted series of course!).

For me, this is either a rent or buy (no split-screen so slightly I'm hesistant to purchase this game). View

So it's a confirmed rumour? Isn't that an oxymoron? View

Basically, the more Activision raises the price, the more the game will get pirated, and it's just going to keep escalating until one party decides the back down.

The thing is, is that it's difficult to get thousands (or millions) of gamers to stop pirating or boycotting, while it's easier to set a lower price. View

Nice, I think Fat Princess will be the first downloadable game that I purchase. View

They can do one of two things:

- Maintain the current price and try to minimize loss made on hardware, but lose greatly in terms of software sales.

- Lower the price on the hardware, increasing the amount lost per console in an attempt to increase software sales due to more consoles sold.

There are pros and cons to both options and I can see why they chose the first option. If they lower the price on the PS3 it's more risky, since if software sales don't increase, they're going to lose even more money.

Overall, it's a double-edged sword. View

Wow, the characters are animated extremely well, and the graphics are stunning - even more so than "Tools of Destruction." The fur and metal look a step above many other games. My only question is, will the game have split-screen? I've been longing for a game with split-screen and was disappointed Naughty Dog stated that Uncharted 2 won't have it (I will be buying both games on release day though). View

Translations from babelfish.yahoo.com and babylon.com respectively:

"Now, SDK which Ota said is abbreviation of the 'software development kit', but whether they are some kind of ones, the can it makes explain simply?"

Babelfish doesn't make much sense, but babylon.com translates it better, which fits the context of the original conversation.

"SDK which Ota said now It is abbreviation of [a software development kit], Will you easily explain it what kind of thing it is?" View

While this scene is similar to the one revealed yesterday, I'm certain that it's a newer build, since most of the pop-in (of shadows) found in yesterday's gameplay clip has disappeared. View

Interesting, Famitsu's early numbers have the Wii selling two thousand more units than the PS3 and the DSi outselling the PSP, while Media Create's numbers are completely opposite. View

Same pros and cons from Nextgen Player, and it giving it a lower mark?

or is it the other way around?

EDIT: Same reviewer posting on different sites... and different scores weird.

EDIT 2: Playstation 2 version reviewed on Feed Your Console, not sure about NextGen Gamer though. View

A list of games on the PS3 that do and do not have 7.1 surround (discrete, not matrixed, I believe). According to the list, there are 70 games with 7.1 surround, eight of them being THX certified. Thirteen, of them are PSN games as well. View

HipHopGamer himself? Not bad. Some of the people that post on his site? ... alright I guess. By the way, it'll help the post's credibility if Blu-ray is not spelled Blue-ray in the article. Knowing that the CryEngine 3 runs on both the PS3 and 360 helps credibility as well... View
