I would 2nd that I don't want nor think gaming should go the way of the Wii. Ask anyone who bought a Wii how much they use it. The vast majority of buyers bought the console got a kick out of it for about a week or two and then stopped using it.

I myself have only plugged mine in for Muramasa: The Demon Blade and before that No More Hero's.

Really I don't think this motion control stuff can be anything more then a gimmick. At least with the tech we have now. Until games can be something like the Matrix where you jack in and are unaware that you are playing(which is probably never gonna happen in our life times) old fashioned controllers will be needed. There is no denying that there is just some types of games you could not do with a Natal or a Wii and forcing it would cause a mediocre experience when it could have otherwise been great(Lair is a good example. had the game controlled normally from the get go alot more people would have liked it) View

I don't know why but I have a hard time thinking it's a Final Fantasy VII remake. Would be great if it was though.

I REALLY hope that Nomura-san is the one in charge of the whole project because if he is it drastically increases the games chances of being a PS3 exclusive. With what we have been hearing about FF VS XIII and the CG and in game graphics nearly being the same the PS3 would be the ideal place for the game. However SE will probably(depending on FFXIII's performance on the 360) Want the game to be Multi Platform. View

FFXIV will be exactly like FFXI in that all players on all platforms will play together on the same servers.

The GOOD thing however is that unlike FFXI the Japanese players will NOT get a head Start. SE has stated in numerous interviews that the game will be released world wide at the same time to prevent this exact issue. They were aware of the problem in FFXI but honesty they could not do anything about it on such short notice.

Personally I never really had a problem with FFXI. I started playing the day of the US launch and I never had issue with anything. The economy was fine. When it really got messed up was when MASS amounts of RMT invaded the game and completey screwed everything up. View

I am wondering how much the PS3 version will differ from what we have seen so far. Graphically I mean.

SE has already said the game is being developed for PC and then ported to PS3 so all the incredibly beautiful screens we have seen so far are from PC(and SE even insists that those shots are not yet running on a 100% graphical completion level). I would assume the PS3 version will not look as good as the PC version but I would like to know the difference.

I plan on playing the game on PS3 for the first year or so and if I continue to play I will update my PC and get the game on there. View

Everything looks good so far. I am happy to see that character creation will be deeper this time around. After playing FFXI for nearly 6 years my main complaint with the game was that you would see a million and half clones of yourself because of the incredibly limited creation process.

The story as well sounds interesting. Although I have a had time believing that it's possible for them to make a better story then Final Fantasy XI Chains of Promathia had. I still think it's one of the best stories in the FF series and it's in a MMO which is quite incredible when you think about it.

As for the whole coming to the 360 thing I am not so sure. Few people would be able to play the game as the install size is going to be massive and that's not counting future updates. So really the only people who would be able to play it without problem are Elite owns or Pro owners with the 60gig(and even then they would probably dedicate most of the HDD space to FFXIV alone.

Something tells me if MS and SE have not reached a agreement already that they might not any time in the foreseeable future. Although it is always possible they have reached one and they are waiting until something like E3 to unveil that fact along with more info. Although that's unlikely since the Beta will be well underway by that point in time.

I noticed a few people commenting on the DVD9 issue on the 360 as a reason it may not come out on that platform and I don't think thats a issue.

FFXI on the 360 installs from a disc and then after that process runs of the hard drive the disc is only used to verify you own the game aside from that the HDD is doing everything. So even if the game was large enough to need to be on more then 1 disc(which is likely) it won't matter as the discs will only be used for the install. If you have signed up for the beta certain questions might lead one to believe the size of the game will most likely be in excess of 20gigs which to be honest sounds a bit small to me but we will have to wait and see. View

Lemme get something off my chest. I hated Goldeneye and I NEVER understood why people loved it so much. Granted at the time of it's release I was largely a PC gamer but I still had plenty of games on console I loved. But Goldeneye was not one of them.

It boggles my mind when I play something like KIllzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2 with a friend and they say something along the lines of "Goldeneye is so much better" What is wrong with these people.

That game looked horrible(even for it's time) and had some of the jankyest controls I have ever seen.

It will never make sense to me why people adore this game so much. It has to be something along the lines of delusion that everything from ones childhood is good regardless of if it was crap or not. View

Well sadly anything would be a improvement over FFXI. The game had so few options it was laughable. I mean I love the game and have been playing it going on 6 years now but I HATE seeing people who look like my character every 10 seconds.

Hopefully this time around that won't be a issue. But really we can't say for sure until the Beta comes out and we see just how much there is to mess around with. View

It SOUNDS like it's much better then XI's clone mania character creation. But it still remains to be see how many options on each part of the body you will have. If it's just a few for each it's kinda pointless as we will once again see a million and a half clones. View

Well I could care less about the Ipod touch. But I would like to see a Zune HD with 128gigs. I would buy that in a heartbeat. I'm hoping that MS announces a bigger Zune HD soon. View

I'm not so sure we can. It says that you cannot apply twice for any reason or it will invalidate your previous application. So I don't know how you would be able to play the PS3 version until it became public which might not be for quite awhile.

Maybe the Beta code they send will work on both PC and PS3(once they start allowing PS3 users to beta test).

I signed up and I'm wondering when they are actually gonna start it. I would imagine it's soon if they are accepting applications. Now the only issue is finding out if my PC will run the game. I don't really care if I can run it at max specs. As I will probably be playing the final release on PS3 but I would like to check it out before it comes out. View

Well at face value this game is worthless however if you read into it it's great news.

One it means they have not giving up on the series because of the issues with Itagaki-san leaving.

two it means they are more willing to support Sony Platforms now and it's a possibility that when and if DOA 5 is announced that it will be on PS3.(Hopefully exclusive so they can give the series that extra bit of graphical kick but I'm not holding my breath).

I'm really hoping to see a DOA 5 announcement soon. It's been too long without a DOA game.

I don't see why everyone wants English subs for the Japanese version. It makes no sense to multiple reasons.

A)No one in Japan wants English subs so why would they release them.

B) The Japanese version of the game is over 100 bucks why would you wanna pay more for that?

C) They could easily add Japanese VO as DLC to both the PS3 and the 360 and solve the problem that way(Which is FAR more likely then the Japanese version getting English subs). View

Sony and their first party studio's have made games that look FAR better then Bayonetta run flawlessly on PS3. If anyone can fix up the game to run the way it should it's them. If they can fully take advantage of the PS3 hardware there is a decent chance the game could end up looking better then the 360 version. Is it unlikely? yes it is. But still possible nonetheless. I find it funny because if Sony does succeed in this then the US PS3 version will look better then the 360 version. Although this isn't really fact yet. 6 months ago I did finally get annoyed and bought a Elite with the newest chipset thinking it would make a difference.

Oh how i was wrong. I hardly use it and already it's having disk drive problems and sounds like a jet airplane taking off inside my room. It's a matter of time until it red rings on me.(Or the disc drive just totally breaks).

I don't think it's getting more reliable and it makes me wonder why MS plans on sticking it out with the 360 when it still has such a high failure rate. They really should be trying to make a new version like a slim(or in this case a fatter model to reduce heat) Or just hurry up and start trying to get the Next Xbox on track instead of trying to keep the 360 alive with Natal.
