Following up on my last blog post on what home could have been and may yet still be by me releasing my nearly year-old post from Sony's Gamer Advisory Panel, I said that I may talk about issues from various consoles. Initially, I wasn't going to post this seeing that all it took was someone to follow the money trail, it takes no more than five or so minutes. Since I heard several people who are fans of various consoles bewildered on why they almost always show multiplat games using 360 boxes, Kevin's little hissy fit about Too Human being berated by critics, and the choice of X-play's choices and it subsequent GOTY, I though I'd shed a little light on the owner behind the curtain.
This will be simple, short, and plain. No frills. Now follow me.
- Go to g4tv's website, look in the lower right hand corner. One of the logos are of E! online.
http://www.g4tv.com
- E! online is a part of E! Entertainment Television, Inc. which operates as a subsidiary of Comcast Corp.

- Microsoft bought a huge chunk of Comcast

Ergo, G4TV is owned by Microsoft through a small web of companies.
Next time you hear thinly-veiled fanboy talk about how the PS3, Wii, or 360 is doing better or worse than the others, or how one GOTY is chosen above the rest due to tough discussion and debate (wink, wink) all you have to do is dig into the history and ownership of a company. That usually gives you the reason why more so than what you hear from the paind announcers. So remember: it's no accident that almost all multiplatform games are shown using 360 boxes, neither is it an accident that Fable 2 got GOTY: it's the one big exclusive from Microsoft that's not selling as well as Microsoft's other big exclusive: Gears of War 2.
Here I would say that next week I would show you how the same process is used by both Gametrailers and MTV with their relationship with Microsoft, but I'll just give you the skinny now, because I wanna do something on Nintendo next week.
- MTV, Gametrailers, and Spike TV are all owned by Viacom.

- Viacom and Microsoft have an advertising deal together.

Sorry to let the cat out of the bag, but Don't expect a Wii GOTY on SPIKE's 2008 Video Game Awards tonight.
Speaking of Wii, next week, I plan on doing something on Nintendo.
Gotta get ready for church service. :D
Using the latest driver/game patches, the GeForce RTX 4090 is 16%, 14%, and 10% faster at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K, respectively
Duuro says: "While the story didn't do it for me this time around, everything else from the gorgeous and varied festival grounds and set-pieces to the new weapons and enemies are enough of a reason to return to Hell-A."
The latest major order in Helldivers 2 was completed within 12 hours. The community managers are already celebrating a job well done.
Interesting...
Where´s the official sales numbers for Helldivers 2, since we heard those metrics are such unacceptable and misleading bs?
Last Official’steam update was 3 million, and the developer saying there’s an even split between steam and pc, so 6million, I’m sure with numbers still growing week-by-week
Other reports suggest more
“According to a Bloomberg report, Helldivers 2 has sold over 8 million copies as of 15th March 2024”
Don’t be salty ps5 has destroyed your favourite box in the first half of the year, with Helldivers, Rise of Ronin and Final Fantasy VII, where Xbox has little to no blockbusters in terms of quality, or sales numbers
...if you look at the link describing how Microsoft bought a huge chunk of Comcast, you'll notice that Comcast also owns 25% of Time Warner...
...who owns, wait for it...
...CNN.
Now do you wonder why a negative PS3 story drops so close to Christmas time?
We're through the looking-glass here, people.
;)
wow i never knew that lol
Good find.
its hard to read this and not laugh
everything is a conspiracy to you people
fable 2 actually sold way better than microsoft anticipated, could it be perhaps sessler just enjoyed fable 2 more?
as for the too human thing, it has a cult following i remember the rant, he seemed to be one of the guys who enjoyed the game some people did contrary to what the internet says
your whole thing just doesn't make sense, they are constantly hocking iphone accessories and apps all over g4, it is odd how microsoft allows that
you also get a huge amount of linux proponents on g4 as well, yet they aren't driven away
people ignore the amount of sony titles that get raves from x play like little big planet(i don't care what you say it isn't that good)
you need to realize that game reviews and game of the year nods are opinions of people
not everyone like metal gear
not everyone liked gta
some people liked too human
microsoft isn't pulling all the strings you think
personally for me fable 2 was one of the more enjoyable games i played this year, it is very fun and offered many hours of enjoying gameplay
it isn't riddled with glitches as some would like you to believe(there are a few but i never had any big ones)
and since i found this game to be extremely enjoyable i find it wholely possible that somebody else< including adam seesler ahd a very good time with the game
when fable 2 came out he said it was one of the few games that he actually played with his wife because she normally hates games
perhaps that factored into his decision, a personal connection with a game maybe more important than a metacritic score
some of you people need to step outside and stop looking for chemtrails in the sky and just enjoy the sun
