Confessions of a PS3 Owner

For the sake of honesty, I'll bring my guards down and admit the following:

1-I'm sick of waiting for Home and in-game XMB.

2-If someone gave me an Xbox 360, I'd use it.

3-I wish the PS3 could play my custom soundtrack while I'm playing a game.

4-Secretely, I wish for all 360's to RRoD.

5-If it weren't for Microsoft raising the bar on on-line gaming, Sony would've taken much longer to get to where they are today and would probably charge for the service.

6-I'm pissed that GTA4 went multiplatform.

7-N4G "IS" a haven for PS3 fanboys.

8-I sold my PS2 and bought an Xbox, when it came out.

9-I played Halo 1 and 2 and enjoyed it.

10-I'm annoyed that Sony owns both movie and music rights, but I can't   download either from the PSN store.

Done.

Now is there anyone willing to do the same from the others consoles?

1 - In-game soundtracks
A bunch of PS3 games have in-game custom soundtracks including; High velocity bowling, Super Stardust HD, MLB 08' the show, Burnout Paradise (ver 1.3), Wipeout HD (confirmed by SCEA).

Nice job also doing a confessional KapedKrusader :D

I admitted I was a fanboy the other day.

But here goes my take on all your points:

1. I can't get online, so I actually don't care, I am disapointed in Sony however that it's taking long.

2. Only with Mass Effect, that game was GOOOOD. But none of the otehr exclsuives grab me in any way.

3. I don't care abotu this either, I think part of the game is to supply a good soundtrack,a dn I feel achievements and custom soundtracks really detract from games. It;s the devlopers job to make it fun.

4. Well, obviously. Luckily it;s happened to lots of my friends, but unluckily for the fanboy in my Microsoft got them fixed sharpish, apart from one.

5. I agree, and I would be getting online if it weren't for AOL.

6. I am too, but I was thinking about blog entries for this. Stay posted.

7. It seems to chnage with the times. But yes at the moment, N4g is very much with the PS3, with only attarcts more of us.

8. Woah blasphemy :P. I didn't. I upgraded my computer to get those graphics I craved and continue on my PS2, I actually have BC PS3, and Shadow of the Colossus, has some seriosu tiem clocked up on it.

9. Halo 2 and 3 I palyed all the time at friedns houses soically, but I nver enjoyed it nor saw the appeal. And Halo was good, becuase it was fresh and had good graphics, but it all went downhill from there. Marketing is what got Halo where it is.

10. I can see why. I would pay for music, becuase it would be registered to PSN, and that's not as complicated as iTunes, becuase iTunes entails computers.

I hear where you are coming from, the only reason I bought a 360 is the fact I got a huge discount on a used one, the video market place is nothing special, Comcast's On demand is a much more interesting in my opinion.

2.1 - When I mentioned Custom soundtrack...
I meant for every game. In other words, that the PS3 would do it on it's own without the developer having to incclude it in the game. Having the PS3 do it makes it the same for all games. I have both
MLB 08:The Show and Paradise and had to download my tracks to both games on different occasions while playing them back through two different methods.

I own both. They both have issues and honestly I tend to buy more games on the PS3 for 2 reasons. 1 I don't have a falcon ship 360 and I fear the RRoD and 2 i like to support the underdog which Sony still currently is at the moment. Who knows for how long. I think until something huge like GOW3 releases honestly but oh well....

Both consoles have issues and need rethinking in a lot of ways. Sony makes good hardware and MS makes good software. I think they should hold hands and make the PS 720 when the day comes but thats just me....

4 - Honesty has to be respected
It's only be being critical of a product that the next installment can evolve.

If a bad product is clung to and not criticized then we can expect the same dross the next time around.

We as gamers should be astute as telling the difference between (1) a good effort that could be better and (2) a shoddy release with no heart whatsoever. Example: (1)Lair vs (2)Pro Evolution Soccer 08

Fanboys whatever their addiction can be stifling a products developments by defending it no matter the critique faced.

Xbox360, PS3 and Wii all have faults. As a user of said console we should be willing to voice our opinions of glaring limitations e.g. 360 nickel & dime extras, PS3 Phil Harrison poor PR excuses, and Wii being old gen tech leverage against a cool control interface.

Let's beat up on the Sony's, Microsoft's & Nintendo's to eliminate shoddy products that are clearly designed to let the users (us) take it in the shorts.

9 - I feel you
I bought a 360 on launch and I enjoyed it for the 1 1/2 years I owned it. I have alot more issues with the 360 than I do with the PS3..What I don't see how come Sony couldn't add chat and messages from the xmb instead of the game( separate program that you can acess anytime)...That way the xmb would be separate and the only thing a game would require is to be able to send invites like COD4 to players playing since you already send a message to your freind letting him know you are playing cod4. I think Home sounds cool and all but I would of rather have a simplier program that could of been out a year ago.

10 - Here I go....
Well first things first nice post and I also loved the 360/RROD part.

I used to be a Nintendo fanboy(I loved the SNES and GB)

I got a N64 and was given a PSX, but I binned the PSX for having shoddy graphics, bad games and a terrible controller....

When I got the Wii I secretly wanted the PS3 SOOOO much and though that Blu-Ray was the future for Games(not movies).

I wish the Wii would pull it's panties up and bring out a decent Online set-up(just copy XBL)....

I wish the Wii would get a decent Online FPS...

I've not paid for XBL and nor will I ever, when it's done it's done...

Only got a 360 as all my friends had one and wanted free chat!

I still don't own a PS3 but yearn for one soooooo much....Waiting on that price drop and a decent alt game pad.

I think that's along the same lines.....

If they say their going to do something, they should do it.

I remember the original specs of the PS2, it was supposed to be so powerful that "it will last 2 generations, because the PS2 will be so powerful that thats when everyone else will catch up to it's power" and "PS2 will be as powerful as 40 Pentium 3's"
Really, I'm still waiting for that console, that would be awesome.

They said the PS3 would last 2 generations too, somehow, I doubt it.

I still remember the "chip" that was supposed to plug into the back of a PS1 to make it 64-bit.

Well, that's my rant, honestly, I dunno what's official, and what's fanboy BS made up to get people to buy PS's. you wanna sit here, researching it and sort out what's what, go ahead. Compare the PS2's processor to 40 Pentium 3's, be my guest.

13 - Real Talk.....
I'll play along I see as usual most of the Sony fanboys can man up to the plate and say anything negative against their creator. I love my 360 but I can take some swipes at it. I aint blind just real.

1) I hate RRod.

2) I hate that the first systems didnt have Hdmi.

3) I hated using rechargable batteries (I hated it even more when I got a plug and play kit and it worked so good).

4) I hate that HD DVD got killed before it could even shine and now the player is almost worthlessand i'm stuck with it.

5) I wish the 360 had a quiet fan.

6) I'm nervous that one day the Ps3 will make games that really look better than the 360.(They havent yet and they probably wont, but they possibly could) I'm not talking that subtle difference crap neither not Killzone 2 Versus Halo 3 but Killzone 2 vs Killzone 1.

7) Why in the Fv(k is the Wii still selling ( It makes the 360 look like its stalling)

8) Why are some of the accessories so darn expensive (i'm looking at you 120gb hard drive).

9) I'm scared to set my 360 up vertically. I dont know man.. my first one died like that.

10) Can a brotha get another fantasy platformer, like Sly Cooper or some s#1T.... Kameo been gettin lonely since launch.
