sh!t, we're going back in time to 2006, talking about this old subject,
right now blu ray isn't making a huge impression on graphics, that's because graphics isn't up to a disc, it's up to the hardware, right now blu ray is just extra space, and while the assistance of a blu ray isn't all that needed it could still be put to further use ,such as 1080p media and HD audio.
calculating polygons,physics,textures,HDR lighting,normal mapping,bump mapping, is still up to the hardware.
the only thing that would really consume space would be a really long game with lots of CGI or HD audio, like lost odyssey or FF13 ( i would also mention gb textures, that would also consume lots of space, but neither console has at least a gb of memory to work with)
