"guess for now I'll trust the quote from SE that I've read. Do you have a quote from SE saying launch date for 360 and PS3 are the same? I don't care what bs websites say. I need quotes, man! QUOTES! :D

IMO, it should be noted that a simultaneous release date isn't mentioned in this articles interview with SE either..."

this article is pretty old but Nomura states,

"We haven't changed the direction of the development. We're making the PS3 version first, and then porting to the 360 later." That means that since the game will be released simultaneously on both platforms in North America and Europe, the PS3 release will be held back in those territories until the 360 version is complete."

http://www.gamespot.com/new...

btw, that was before the official release date was made, both are set for 09.

edit, from the looks of it, i don't see anything bad looking about it, it's going to be pushing both consoles.

also, about this article, it states
"Kitase-

The PS3 version is what is in development right now and the team is looking to specialize it for the PS3 so that the game is maximized," Kitase said in a OPM Australia interview. "And then they will port it over to the 360 and fully utilize the capabilities of that console." Glad we got that sorted out"

translation, FF13's content will be using the space of a blu ray, they will use how ever much space is needed to complete the product.

"WADA" also said "once the final comprised content is completed they will allocate how ever many DVDs is needed for 360, right now that's undecided"

"And then they will port it over to the 360 and fully utilize the capabilities of that console." Glad we got that sorted out"

translation, FF13 will be fully utilizing ps3, and it will be fully utilizing the 360.

hmmm
at that time it didn't even have a release date.

now it does, and the it was quoted that the 360 version would be released "at launch"......at launch means when the when they set the date of launch, and launch date was set for 09.

this is what i've ben reading from over 18 various web pages.

1. Finish PS3 version. Release in Japan. Japanese language only.
2. Start 360 port and localizations.
3. Release simultaneously on the PS3 and 360 in North America, and Europe. View

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot ran at "1024x768P (2xAA)" (hence SUB HD)

and Splinter Cell Double Agent ran at "1280x720P (4xAA)"

hmmmm, nice
will it have "frame lock" if it doesn't then that's ok but if it does then that's even better, well, with or with out it's still a great game. View

why so many comments?
is it that big of a deal for ps3 gamers? View
72 days 19 hours ago
there's an other way of doing it, the smart way.
use a spare HDD so that you can keep your warranty, OR use the swaped HDD's manufacture warranty. i swaped my already and i'm still under a warranty.

your just finding ways to avoid the option. View

hmmmm
well from what i see is that you can get Bioshock and a arcade or a 60 gig model for $240/$340, and you can play bioshock out of the box and it won't need a hdd.

or

you can get a 80 gig ps3 with the exact same game for $560, wait for the game to finish installing and then finally play it. View

hmmmm,
"I don't see why they should have to make them mandatory if their only for loading times though, it doesn't matter to me because I would be installing the game regardless."

hmmmm well first off, when that "FALL UPDATE" comes to XBL, i will will be using my HDD for all of my games, so yes, REGARDLESS of the option of having installing i would install it anyways.

most of the stuff i read off of various pages, they talk about why ps3 needs the HDD and at the same time 360 doesn't require it, as a 360 owner i would still do it even though it's not necessary, and if it wasn't mandatory for ps3 games, ps3 gamers will still use the HDD anyways.

"So frame rate or resolution has jack crap to do with disc speed."

yeah i fvcking said that already. View

well a majority of developers have already talked about reasons for mandatory installation, and it is pointing to loading times.

many reviewers have stated in the reviews of a few selected titles that mandatory installation aids in faster loading times. View

hmmm
"With the announcement that the Playstation 3 version of Bioshock kicks off with a 5gb mandatory install, the question now has to be raised, Will these mandatory installs on the Playstation 3 become a problem?

"First we have to ask the question, why do we need all these big mandatory installs on Playstation 3 games when the Xbox 360 does so well without them? That I believe is down to bluray, sure bluray has tons of capacity but the disc reads at an overall slower speed than DVD9, Therefore it is either have more load times in your games, or install data to your Hard Disk Drive to eliminate load times and make the game run more smoothly."

"Bourne Conspiracy Includes a Manadory Install on the Playstation 3

In conclusion I feel this loading issue could also be the cause of many Playstation 3 games being at 30fp and at low resolutions, and although mandatory installs can correct this issue, it is not a solution that can continue to be a growing trend if Sony wishes their platform to last ten years. If a game like Bourne Conspiracy can run on the Xbox 360 without an install then how does that look for Playstation 3? "

interesting but, ps3 can do 1080p, 720p, 30, and 60 fps, so i don't think blu ray has anything to do with that. i think it's just effecting loading times. (my opinion) View

AA is something that has nothing to do with the HDD
"It has better AA than the 360 version."

yes it will, but i could counter attack that with the 360 version of UT3 having better drawing distance.

the correct answer to both is the 7 to 9 months difference that they have.

edit- the textures of bioshock (ps3 version) BTW are identical to the 360 version so no upgrade was made there.

no one's thinking logical
everyone here is thinking immaturely.

why do they say "New 360 Games Copied to HDD Won't Load Much Faster"

and why does this article say "BioShock PS3 has 5Gb, 10-minute mandatory install"

http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News...

the game's a port of the 360 version.

i like to speak to someone who can speak at my level. View

"New 360 Games Copied to HDD Won't Load Much Faster"

you void only your HDD warranty.

something to take note on.

if you buy an HDD and swap your 360's HDD you WILL lose customer support from MS BUT you WILL gain customer support of the makers of the HDD. View

hmmmm
the ps3 version is a port, it's not remasterd.

and the textures for the game have not made an increase.

well, it's ben a good 15 hrs, since i did the swap
it was successful, it's pretty easy if you know what your doing, it took me 1 hr to do the whole procedure, i had to back up my data so it took me a while.

BTW i forgot to mention, you don't send your HDD in for repairs with the console, so that means your 360 is STILL under warranty, but your HDD wont be, and messing with the HDD does not give your 360 an RROD, cause your messing with JUST the HDD and NOT the whole console, and the 360 was made to run without the HDD anyway (since it's an external device)

with that being said, i noticed a couple of things in my little experiment, the 120 gig HDD that i put inside of the 360 was borrowed from my notebook and it's a lot faster then the 360's HDD, i was a little sceptical about the HDD not being speed compatible, but it looks like it doesn't matter 360 reads it.

the demos i'm running are loading quicker.

as for the warranty on your HDD you can still keep it if you have a spare or buy a used 20 gig, it doesn't have to be a working drive cause your swapping it anyway. View
74 days 15 hours ago
BTW
the 360 was designed to run with out a HDD so it shouldn't get a RROD at all, if anything was to happen only the HDD would be affected.

i don't really encourage gamers to break their warranties, so get a 20 gig HDD off of EBAY or any used store, it doesn't even have to be a working HDD since your swapping the internal part. View
