I just wanted to throw in my quick two cents on the MP3 graphics debate compared to those of the Conduit's.
The Conduit is looking like it's going to be a very sharp looking game for the Wii, but nothing I have seen so far makes me think it's going to out shine what Retro Studios did with MP3. MP3's environment and character models are far more detailed from anything I have seen from the Conduit so far. Also, the lighting effects in MP3 are easily on par with any of the demos that I have seen from this game. I hope the people talking about "artistic style" in defending the Conduit are referring to the Conduits hero's and villains that look like they just been pulled out of a late 90's B movie and not the games polygon count. Also, the Conduits engine was originally made for a PSP (or was it a PS2?) and not built from the ground up for the Wii.
With that being said, I applaud High Voltage efforts in bringing a high quality new IP for the Wii. It looks like a great start for a franchise but thinking it will out do the quality of something done by Retro Studios (who has like ten years experience with Nintendo architecture) are fooling themselves.
The Wii still hasn't reached it's full potential graphically. No one expects it to rival those of the PS3 or 360. Still, when a company makes a statement about the graphics being almost 360'ish. That company better do a little better than what they are showing. But, I do like that fact that some 3rd parties are finally taking the challenge.
