ME 2 ... do i really want it?
I played ME and beat it. Twice actually. I really liked it. The story was really pretty solid... I enjoyed the psuedo run&gun/pause&assign combat they incorporated. However traveling around was slow and tedious. Especially when you were traversing those random planets for loot and enemy bases. Why every planet has mountain ranges all across it's surface I will never know. That aspect should be streamlined just a bit. And if elevators are that dominant in the future yet so slow humanity really has no hope... but I digress....
At the time, I confess, I was an achievement whore. So, I played it again, upping the difficulty (in the outside menu) to get those pts. Unbeknownst to me you needed to change the difficulty in-gameplay on the first planet you are on even tho the achievement description specifically states changing difficulty levels in game will discount your progress for the achievement.
I really must thank ME for getting the monkey off my back cuz when I completed that badboy for the 2nd time and got not even half the points I was expecting it killed the "whore" within.
But it also left a very bad taste in my mouth regarding this game. Traversing all those !@#$!'n planets again was not "to be".
............................. ...
But whether or not I buy this is totally up in the air for me. Before ME came out I remember hearing how the sequels would somehow incorporate your progress with the character from the previous games. If this is still the case, I'm definitely in for a rental...
