So basically what I've been hearing from this thread is the equivalence of only watching a movie if you get a sticker that told everyone else you watched it, or reading a book (yes they still exist) only if you get a shiny bookmark at the end, or only having friends if you're given a present after you get drunk with them.
Doesn't really make much sense at all, at least to me. The fun should come from the game itself, not a pop-up message.
