It's been a loooong time since I actually played me a Wrestling game. To me, nothing compares to N64's No Mercy - the game is the cause behind many sleepless nights. View

The Grandia series was awesome, hands down. The second one, to me at least, brings back great memories just thinking about it. I would love to see the series get picked back up and see what they can do with it this gen. I had some real good times back then with RPGs... Good times. View

Personally, I wasn't TOO much of a fan of Grandia III. It was good, but it just didn't do it for me as the other ones did. View

Only problem I had when playing through the game is some of the cut-scenes. It did zero justice through the progression, but the lasting appeal of the overall game forgives it. View

The God of War series is definitely one of the best games that I've ever played. Although Kratos might have a slight testosterone problem, it doesn't take away from the game's epic gameplay and strong storyline. The God of War collection is definitely a must buy for fans of the series and for those who have yet to experience one of the greatest games to stride through last generation.

Oh, and it includes the God of War III demo. Two words, people: My god. View

Although some might think that the name alone might be the sole reason for the series success, I'd have to say that a lot of the FF games do have deep story lines in comparison to many others. Depends on the game for me. The majority of the times, I get that feeling when I'm opening up a sequel I've been waiting years for. It happened with Finaly Fantasy X, happened with Uncharted 2, Gears of War 2, and it's going to happen with God of War 3. Butterflies are fluttering in my belly just thinking about it. View

I will agree with you on some points, James. I'm not going to deny the fact that the FPS genre was the ingredient that promoted online gaming on consoles and PCs. Gaming in general evolved, I think, because of how competitive FPS's made things. A lot of the time, breakthroughs in graphical advancements are made through or for FPS games since they provide a rich entertaining experience.

FPS does provide an abundance of greatness. I am in no way going to bad mouth the genre that has given me some of the best of gaming. However, I think Joel is trying to state that because FPSs have become so gargantuan in releases and development, other genres have suffered for it this generation. If we take a look at the eras of SNES and PSX, FPSs weren't really popular on consoles. These consoles supported more 2D sidescrollers, RPGs, and third-person games. As consoles began to evolve technologically, the genres that people enjoyed began to shift. And I believe it is because people, as graphics get better and better, want to experience the most realistic experience they can get. And what genre can provide that aside from FPS? It gives brings us some sense of realism which makes the game(s) more appealing.

Whether or not FPSs are ruining gaming, my *opinion* is more on that it is taking away from the variety that were once ample in supply on consoles. Am I upset about it? Nope - just a bit disappointed by it. Which is why I can't wait to get my hands on GoW3 ;) View
