it's endless speculative nonsense like this that has finally led me to just give up following any console news.
i'll stick with my consoles and just read reviews of games a few weeks before release.
The rest is mostly rubbish or not that important to the choices I make about which games to buy.
There is no such thing as objective news. Not in the Times or any other publication on or off line. the best we can find is the rare intelligent article that takes a reasonable balanced approach. But these are one in a million. And I'm bored with the endless deluded, ill-informed, knee-jerk fanboy flaming or ecstatic fantasies about how gloriously orgasmic their console of choice is.
N4G, like most other gamer websites have become polluted with fanboys churning out the same moronic arguments and opinions every chance they get.
As for the nonsense about the decline of the PS3.That same Times page has a link to another news item about the success of gaming and I qoute
"Unaffected by piracy and able to maintain premium prices of more than £40 for new releases, the games industry was easily the most successful entertainment business during 2008, with sales of computer games soaring 23 per cent to a record £1.9 billion."
Sure, Sony could cut any part of their business, even gaming, but it's anyone's guess until we have the hard facts.
Microsoft is just as vulnerable, as are all industries.
