"<b>We’ll be shutting down the beta servers on Thursday, October 30 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.</b> After that, you’ll need a retail copy of R2 to continue playing this first-person shooter."

Too late to change graphics

With just a couple of weeks to go before the release, my guess is that the discs would have already been pressed and packaged. Do you think they really have time to tweak the quality, call back the duff versions, do a re run of disc pressings, package them up and ship them out?
Bear in mind that these firms pressing discs don't just sit around waiting for orders and Bioshock will have to wait...
