Racism on Game sites

When we all try to think about why the Ps3 and xbox360 are being treated very differently from the predecessors, we are tempted ( and rightfully so) to say it  is the sales.

However carefull consideration on each and every field  concerning gaming will show us something more disgusting.

We all heard about how good games like Assasin's Creed aren't being respected in Japan, as some stores put up "western dog shit" signs on ALL US/EU games.

We all agree this is unacceptable, but what do devs do about this?
They hit back, they get angry and in the meantime they destroy one console, the Ps3 ( i'm not a Fanb0i) I have a 360 and a ps3.

How do they do that?

They pay western media more money to display their games to the more western consoles, instead of the Ps3 (forget the Wii).

That's why you will now find that every game that is both Ps3 and 360, listed as 360 , and then in tiny text at the bottom it says for Ps3 too.

Whether we like it or not Western dev's are hitting back at the crap they used to take. No doubt japan has been very disrespectful in regards to gamers lately, they see themselves as the Dev kings, there is no excuse for releasing games like Final Fantasy 6 months later to the US and a yer later for EU.

However, we as gamers get in the middle of this battle, we fight and fight but are not realizing we are only a tiny piece in a big puzzle of war.

The Ps3 being a Japanese console with both western and japanese games, is suffering, last generation it was this that made the Ps2 sky rocket. This time its is downfall...

But what are we gonna do with all our games?
I mean a lot of people like Final fantasy and  ( what ever western games are good)

What pissed me off personally was the the fact that the Nintendo dude said he didn't know what ratchet and Clank was...

As if any Mario game comes close to the fun factor and Graphics of that game..

Your anger appears to be directed at the distribution time delay in localization of games. It takes time to translate a game completely - not just the language but the control system, etc.

We here and our friends in Europe prefer western games more and Splinter Cell sales are proof of it......Japan is no longer king of games........... f(() japan and the horse they rid in on, we told everyone to forget the ps since there's only like one game on it....who gives a sh** about japan....

Hey buddy World of Warcraft, Mass Effect and Bioshock all come from the USA and the west and if you think they aren't creative you're crazy!!!!!!!

They kept japanese games on the Ps3 and western games on the Xbox360 so we don't have to suffer any longer.. Europe is more Japanese orientated non of the games of western devs ever hit number 1 in the EU here. I'm very pleased with that since Japanese devs have more creativity then any other.

That's why and how Sony thanks europe by making all their games 20% higher expensive , now we know what to expect immediately !!!

In Europe they prefer real games like assassins creed which still was number one over a month later, japan games never make the top spot anymore when you have call of duty / guitar hero taking the top slots !!!!

I do think winds of change are afoot in europe, here is how the consumers get burned paying $100 a game !!!nothing says thank you like a price hike in all territories !!! Plot thickens !!

your examples are clearly what happens in US and it seems like you have no idea about whats going on in Europe, in fact more than half of the countries in EU lists games as "PS3" and "also for X360" in a corner somewhere... in conclusion, the PS3 have stronger commercial inpact in EU rather than in the US.

Yeah Japanese devs are proud of their games, since most of Japanese entartainment is more focused on games. But you know US and EU and to be more clear US itself can do a lot more better in gaming than Japanese. They have a lot of resources, money and man power like no other country (just look at the brain drain they do). But in US movies have more appeal than games and in Japan reverse is the truth. So the Hollywood movies have no.1 spot in the world and even when Japan's great devs like Square Enix make movies they are pale in comparison to the Hollywood CGI's from that of Pixar. But when we consider game Japanese would enjoy the no. 1 spot for time till games get over movies on the west.
So goes from the anime it was more focused in Japan but now is loosing appeal in Japan and has certainly degraded since 90's.
And abt racism its both ways in Japanese devs and in Western devs. you would see most of the new western devs concentrating on 360 and PC which are not used Japanese gamers. So do the Japanese on Ps3 and Wii and Sony has the loss that new western devopers will not atleast be exclusive to PS3 so easily. This is not a very big loss but will become significant with time.
Also by what I have seen in Europe mainly UK and Russia are biggest Xbox supporters. Rest of the Eurpe still likes PS. I mean have some some Uk and Australian 360 fanboys as freinds they are so consevative abt their console of choice that they could even stab a person on that issue and on the contrary the French and Germans are biggest PS3 fanboys in Europe.
