I own both, so I know both sides of the story. I agree with some parts of the article, and disagree with others.
First off, the 20gig has been discontinued now for almost a year, yet it is still mentioned as being the alternate SKU for the ps3, and at 200 dollars cheaper. This is false. The true story is this: The 80gig Ps3 SKU is listed at $499.99. The 40gig Ps3 SKU is listed at $399.99. The features far outweight the Xbox 360 as far as value (Wifi, Free online, etc).
Secondly, he mentioned the Blu-Ray does not affect game quality at all. This is entirely false. The Blu-Ray medium is High Definition one. That right there makes it capable of having a native resolutin of 1080p (instead of having to be upscaled artificially by the console). This is only attainable by using a High Definition disc. In addition, there is far more room for games due to the size. With MGS4 and Resistance 2, they are using a full 50gigabyte Blu-Ray disc! This means much more room for programmers to tweak AI, physics, sound, video, and so much more. It also provides a larger space for more gameplay in general, in addition to not having to compromise graphical files by compression techniques used to make it fit onto a much smaller disc.
Compare this to an Xbox360, and the 360 is blown out of the water. The Xbox360 does not support any High Definition medium, and the most a DVD-ROM can hold is a little over 8gigs. So compare an 8gig normal disc to a 50gig native 1080p disc, and theres no way you could be on the same level.
These are just two points the article failed in. Of course before anyone responds, I'd like to say I do own and love both my 360 and Ps3, so really, Im just stating the facts.
