We are reading more than people think :) and we are constantly taking notes. It may not seem like we are doing anything to solve these problems but we are working on it everyday. Btw, both of you posted some good ideas that I think we can use. View

I am not so sure
I think maybe t3.co.uk is just reporting on the Elite story from a few days ago. So I am not sure if this has been confirmed again to t3.co.uk. View

Hey, where did that guy find that video
It's funny because I actually made that video 2 years ago for PS3Today for those of you who remember that site. It was just meant as a silly joke but a lot of people got really angry over it.

Anyway I am surprised to see it show up again, View

RE: I think it said something like "I agree and won't do it again"
I totally agree that this message was very inappropriate, and it was never meant to read that. I personally write all the text for the site, which I send over to the programmer. Until he gets the real text the programmer just use dummy text on the web forms. That message was supposed to be updated with the text I sent over before the system went live. The text has now been updated with the proper message. I am sorry if we offended anybody. View

I appreciate to hear you guys opinions, so please keep them coming. The fact is that in the near future we will run into a big problem, and the feedback system has been put in place to tackle this. If we don’t do anything while the site continues to grow and the number of contributors will soon be a lot higher than today, the news will start piling up in the pending news area, the front page will be cluttered with duplicated news stories, many which are just linking to recycled blog posts instead of the real story and so on. The site will turn into a useless mess, and while I know everybody is just trying to do their best and help out, it doesn’t change the outcome.

If you guys have any other ideas on how we can tackle this problem please post them, we are always interested in hearing ideas on how we can improve the site. View

Yes, I agree, there is no perfect system as some stories don't seem to fit into any category. Howevere in the example you gave I would choose gaming as it could be linked to gaming culture. View

Just to make one thing clear. None of the people who submit news today are in any danger of loosing their status as contributor. Getting the green feedback is only meant as helpful feedback , nothing more. The red warning messages will only appear when we feel somebody is completely ignoring the site rules. And I think it is only fair that they get a few warnings before their account is downgraded.

I have been running game sites and online communities for a long time and trust me, this is the right move. I see where you guys are coming from when you express your worries about the site becoming too strict, but the other alternative is much worse. As more and more members join and submit news the site is in danger of becoming a big mess. View

I think everybody do appreciate that you submit news to the site OutLaw, but I don’t understand why you take this so personally. If you want to stop submitting news you are of course free to do so. The feedback system is meant to make it easer for everybody. In fact submitting a news story correctly does not take any more time, it just makes the site a lot better for everybody. This site like any other site which is user powered needs to have systems in place to make sure the content on the site is of a certain quality, something we will continue to work on. I hear what you say but to be honest I don’t agree with your view, but that is ok, I respect your opinion either way. View

Re: submitting tips
The reason why you didn't get credit was because the story was originally created with xboxaddict.com story as source. When the story was later edited to the gamesindustry.biz story it didn't trigger your credit for news tips. This is due to a small bug which we are working on. View

Re: The contributor test
Make sure you have read all the info in the News Posting Guidelines ( http://www.n4g.com/Info/Pos... ) and
News Posting Tutorial ( http://www.n4g.com/Info/Pos... ) before taking the test. After you have read these articles the answers should become more clear. View

Re: Are there goint to be pictures on the news ???
What kind of browser are you using? It could be because you are using an old browser that doesn't support png images. Either we are working on a fix that will support older browsers. View

RE: Big Joke
You see the problem Outlaw is if we change the site so that you are 100% satisfied with it, a thousand other members will hate us for making those changes. We do listen to feedback but there is no way we can please every member, so we just have to continue developing the site into something we ourselves feel is the best. The site update we are launching next week will take the site many steps in the right direction and I think most of you will be very pleased with what we have done. As for people fighting and acting immature on the internet, that I am afraid is here to stay. Just look at IGN, Gamespot or Joystiq .com it’s all the same , people fighting day in and day out. Our main focus is to make N4G the best place to get news updates about games and hopefully in time the quality of the comments on the site will also improve. Outlaw you have been one of the biggest contributors of news to this site and I do hope you will continue to be that on the new N4G site too. View
