This was confirmed 3 days after their e3 press conference
"Don Mattrick, senior VP of Microsoft’s interactive entertainment business, says that the company has no intention of ditching traditional controller-based games following the unveiling of its motion sensing Project Natal.

“I think we’ve got the best thumb-based controller ever created,” Mattrick told Edge. “We’re not going to take anything away."

"“Think, you could be playing a game with a controller and have your character react when you instinctively duck out of the way of an explosion, or the ability to throw a grenade with a gesture. I don’t think of Natal as taking anything away, I see it as adding more". http://www.edge-online.com/...

I don't know how many times they have to say it before it gets through the thick skulls of some people. View

It's quie shocking that it is taking them so long to impliment such an obviously good idea to begin with. Why every single device under the Microsoft entertainment and devices division does not sync simlessly with one another is really silly.Well as they say, better late than never. View

@rememberthe357
What he means is, imagine a game like Mass Effect being played with Natal. Your a character with biotic powers and you want to use your LIFT ability, instead hitting RB, pausing the game and selecting it from the circle wheel, you simpy lift your right hand mimicing shepards action. Same for, force push, barrier and as of Mass Effect 2, trust both hands forward (while holding the controller) to do the dash move. Fluid combat without ever pausing the game.

In the right hands, this tech can open up new genres and game play mechanics that will never be conceivable in the right hands. Why people are not wanting games to be pushed forward in other areas apart from graphics is something i can never understand.

@ Smokzdaizm : Bubbles buddy, that is the right attitude to have towards new tech. If it is released and it does not deliver, then can we go on a hating spree. As for now, i am excited and can't wait to see the kind of games that we will see when both Sony and Microsoft release their motion devices. View

@ rememberthe357 : "MS is not going to make you hold your 360 controller while playing on Natal. Natal is a "controller free" control interface". Since when?
Is it that some of you Microsoft haters suffer from selective memory? or is it that you just like to cherry pick certain pieces of information and completely ignore the rest.

Aron greenburg even stated in another article that there will be Natal only games, Natal + the 360 controller games (hybrids) and controller only games. For someone that is always in 360 articles, it will be shocking if you don't know this. View

Completely agree,Lost Odyssey is one the best games on the 360. Mass effect is my best game this gen but its not a proper exclusive because its also available on the PC. Shadow complex is my best xbla game to date.

So if i could edit the list i will replace Banjo with Halo Wars, Replace PGR4 with PGR3,Geometry wars for Shadow Complex and replace Dead Rising (save system totally ruined the game for me) with Lost Odyssey. Halo 3 should jump down a spot and let Gears 2 take the number 1 spot. Just my opinion. View

Now i understand what you are talking about. I think its because the carrer mode is open unlike previous Forza games that were more scripted and scaled the difficulty the more you progressed. On that note i agree with you. View

@ peeps
I don't really understand this statement "problem is it's allowing me to use racing class cars against races involving cars from classes like d and c". Are you talking about the carrer mode? Because if you are, then i don't understand how that can be possible when every race is for a particular class. So if the race is for class C, then the annoncer will say "your car is not eligible for this class,.

It will then ask you to either choose another car, remove or add upgrades to make your car eligible. I am in season 6 and never have i been able to use a car from a different class for a race with a predefined class restriction.

As for rewind, there are a few penalties. 7/10 times, your lap time will not get recorded. As for the game being easier, i will agree on certain parts. The unmodified cars are easier to drive because in Forza 2, the physics for unmodified care were completely off. They were basically undriveable which is not true of real life cars. Harder does not mean more realistic.

Now if you want the game to get harder, try playing it with the clutch enabled. View

switch off
- Traction contol
- Auto brake
- ABS
- Stability management control
Change it from automatic to manual with clutch. Play the game like this then come back and tell us if the handling felt arcadey. View

The game is a massive success over here in the UK and has remained in the top 10 charts for the past two months while some bigger titles have dropped off the top 20 entirely.

As for the game its self, its really great. The best thing about the game has to be the physics engine which is simply top notch.Another node has to go to the storefront, the user generated content you see over there from tunning setups, photos to decals made by the Forza 3 community is really breathtaking.Never have i played a racing game that is soo driven by the community. Kudos to Turn 10. View

thanks a lot. Star Ocean the last hope is pretty cheap in the UK, so i might just get it. Was never into JRPG's but playing Lost Odyssey just felt like an epic event. Amazing on every level and i just don't want to play a bad JRPG that will put me off. Thats the reason why i skipped Infinite Undiscovery and The last Remnant.

Over the past months, i even came to the conclusion that apart from FF13, i will not play any other JRPG until Sakaguchi (cant remember his full name of mistwalker) releases his next JRPG for the 360.

Was really happy to hear a few weeks ago that he will shead some light on his next project early next year. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will be LO2 or a game as good or even better than LO for the 360. View

I certainly agree, Lost Odyssey does have an awesome soundtrack. After playing Lost Odyssey, i vowed never to listen to reviews again and simply buy games that interst me instead of listening to someone elses opinion.

One question. Is Star Ocean the last hope as good as Lost Odyssey?I do need another great JRPG fix but don't know if i should just wait for FF13. View

Fanboys will disagree with you
I am also in the UK and bought the game day 1 but since the game droppedd out of the NPD top 20, fanboys were quick to call the game a flop.

This is an article posted a few weeks ago calling Forza 3 a flop http://www.n4g.com/NewsPend... My comment is number 7 and i pointed out that the EU was the most important market for Forza 3 yet they disagreed and tried to call me out. Glad to see i was right again.

@ maximusprime: You say i should play games not sales then you go on to say "When GT5 releases, it'll be the best SELLING game in UK. Yes, all Brits like me love racing games." Your such a hypocrite. View

This is a survey that was posted on N4G that a lot of fanboys hold on to
"SquareTrade found that the Xbox 360's failure rate was far higher than its rivals. Some 23.7 percent of those surveyed failed within two years of purchase: 12 percent from the infamous "Red Ring of Death" and 11.7 percent from other problems, including the "E74" error. Both problems are covered by the 360's three-year manufacturer's warranty," http://uk.gamespot.com/news...

This is now another survey posted by the same company covering only consoles sold shortly after the introduction of the jasper unit

"SquareTrade found that Xbox 360 quality has improved dramatically since the third quarter of 2008, shortly before the 65nm CPU/GPU "Jasper" model was introduced. Since then, first-year failure rates have plummeted to below the 4 percent the company projected. Looking at 500 units purchased in 2009, SquareTrade found that less than 1 percent had suffered the Red Ring of Death." http://www.vgchartz.com/for...

But you are free to believe whatever news that will help you sleep better.
