I agree that taxpayer dollars should go for the funding of defense. However, Obama has repeatedly said (in a campaign video to boot) that he plans to cut funding to quite a few areas of defense. Missile defense is one such area that he claims that we need to cut funding.

As for Education? Why not just let parents have school choice? Why not let the schools compete against each other so that we can create a school system based upon performance and success?

By the way, who gets to claim what is and isn't fair in the world? Your definition of fairness is obviously different from mine so what makes your idea of fairness any better than mine? I believe that people should be able to keep their entire pay check and that a nationwide sales tax be implemented so that we are only taxed upon what we spend instead upon what we make. You believe that everyone should be taxed "equally" yet you don't define what "equal" actually is. Considering the constant name calling and stereotypes that the Left has placed upon the successful (otherwise known as "Greedy rich, evil rich, fortunate ones, fat cats, and excessively wealthy) why should I believe that the democrats (who are un-apologetically left wing) have the best interest of what is "fair" to those who are going to be taxed? Obviously the bias being shown by the left should be an alarm that their plan for "fairness" is actually only "punishment" for the wealthy and successful. View

Your missing the point. The money that others make from their hard work doesn't belong to you or anyone else. You have no right to claim that another persons wages or taxes somehow belong to you or another citizen. View

Palin was never part of the AIP. Which, I must point out, is actually called the Alaskan Independence Party. That bit of false information, along with the false information that Palin wanted to ban books in a library, was created in emails from the internet. None of it was true.

Quit spewing out the fringe talking points and actually use your head once in a while. View

Would you kindly take your marxist bull**** elsewhere?

Obama and his redistribution plans will do nothing but damage our already suffering economy, which I should point out was caused by the failed public policies of the Clinton Administration by altering the Community Reinvestment Act to force private lenders to make sub-prime loans to unqualified borrowers or face lawsuits from the Federal government. The retooling of the CRA basically turned Fannie/Freddie in to a free-for-all for guaranteeing bogus loans made by people who they knew could never pay them back.

Just remember: The money that others make from their own hard work does not, I REPEAT! DOES NOT, belong to you. Ever. Quit asking for the government to over tax the successful just because you don't feel that its "fair" that they have a lot of money and you don't. View

Gee, I wonder if the fallback in PS3 sales had ANYTHING to do with the rumor that the PS3 was getting a LBP bundle in Japan for the past week? Think people might be waiting till that thing hits the shelves maybe?

I'm hoping that the PS3 sales seriously jump when LBP hits in Japan and considering the amount of positive reaction coming from the Japanese about the game I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing a VERY good seller and console mover in the Eastern markets and more specifically Japan. View

Spelunker is an OLD OLD OLD game that originated on the PC (I think...I kinda remember an NES cartridge for it though, but it was so long ago my memory is fuzzy), but it was ridiculously fun and very difficult.

I mean, seriously, the original game is like Oregon Trail old. Still, good news for the PSN and good to see more nostalgic games being reborn. View

@PimpHandStrong
A few points:

1) I never said that Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac were created any other date other than 1939. I was specifically talking about the Community Reinvestment Act which was created in 1979. Fannie and Freddie, however, were instrumental in ENFORCING the CRA because of their purpose. Which was to guarantee large loans to private banks in the credit markets. However, even after the bad debt was piling up after mortgage after mortgage was being defaulted on and foreclosed they were STILL forcing private banks to lend to undeserving and unqualified people because they were "guaranteeing" all of those loans. Yet, they knew they were worthless to begin with.

2) I did not copy and paste anything. I typed out and wrote every sentence of that post on my very own and It sounded so well documented because I've done my homework.

3) The reason why the Home Market has been responsible for market crashes is because of the people with bad-credit TAKING OUT LOANS. Banks need to stop lending out cash to everyone just because they can sign their own name. If a person has bad credit then they don't need loans. Period. View

@AAACE5
Allow me to educate you on a few things about politics and "the people who got us in to this mess".

1) The symbol that each party carries has absolutely no bearing about what they represent or how the operate government. As for what the Elephant would represent? The Elephant was most commonly used in the ancient days as a means of carrying heavy and otherwise immovable stock from one place to another over dangerous terrain. Mountains, Rivers, valleys, and various climates were ideal for using Elephants because they are very durable, very strong, and very big. In the course of their use by humans the Elephant has been a far more efficient and helpful means of getting work done than a Mule. However, as I said, the symbol really holds no bearing on the political parties means of governing.

2) As for what the Republican party has done for us so far? Well, for one, they've cut taxes repeatedly and they, usually, strive to reduce the footprint of the government by shrinking it. They have advanced the idea of Individualism and Capitalism which are two of the very ideals that this country was founded upon.

3) Speaking about the economy for a moment? Why don't you tell everyone who got us in to this mess with the housing crisis and the banks failing left and right due to bad debt? You won't tell them? Ok, I will.

It all begins with a piece of legislation called the "Community Reinvestment Act". This piece of legislation was created by the Carter administration because they felt it was "unfair" that so many people in the country were renters instead of homeowners. They instituted a law that would ease the requirements for large mortgage loans allowing more people to own a home. The way the Carter administration did it allowed more people to own homes, but foreclosures began to rise as well due to many people taking out loans they couldn't pay back, so the credit markets clamped down again and stopped giving out home loans to unqualified people.

HOWEVER, in 1995 the Clinton Administration drastically revised the CRA (community reinvestment act) and placed numerous clauses in the legislation that made it impossible for banks to DENY home loans. Fannie and Freddie (which are Government Sponsored Enterprises) would guarantee loans to the private banks of the nation, but at the same time the government would threaten the private banks with lawsuits and penalties if they denied loans to low-income (read POOR) buyers. Private banks were being forced by the government to give out $200,000 dollar loans and UP to unqualified and undeserving people who had no means of ever paying back these extravagant loans. SO, the number of foreclosures and bad loans began to pile up and eventually the private banks were collecting billions of dollars in bad debt. However, Fannie and Freddie continued to guarantee these bad loans despite the fact that Fannie and Freddie knew they were worthless.

In 2003 the Bush Administration (and the GOP) pushed forward a piece of legislation that would have brought more oversight and reform to the problems with Fannie and Freddie and it would have allowed the government to crack down on all of the bad loans that the GSE's were still trying to pass off to private banks. The Democrats blocked the legislation and said, in numerous hearings, that "there was nothing wrong with Fannie and Freddie".

In 2005 McCain co-sponsered a bill that would have, once again, created an oversight committee to try and fix the problems of Fannie and Freddie which would have avoided this economic collapse due to the billions of dollars in housing debt that every bank was carrying.

The Democrats blocked that too.

Now, here was are, on the verge of economic collapse and the Democrats have the NERVE to blame it on the Republicans? The funny thing? people like you believe them when they point the fingers and blame.

While your at it! Why don't you look up how much money in kick-backs and contributions your man Barack Obama was getting from Fannie and Freddie's nefarious business practices. It was upwards to $120,000 and he had only been in the senate for two years. Hmmm, i guess corrupt chicago politics is the type of "hope" and "Change" that he was talking about.

Next time you need to study up a little bit before you come in here and spout off your retarded political rhetoric. Because when you DO then people who are intelligent and very knowledgeable in the subject will come in here and school you.

Kinda like I just did. View

Agreed. Sony has tried to diversify their line-ups this generation in such a scattered way that it just seems to have lost focus completely. Their apparent abandonment of the RPG genre in the early part of this generation is hurting their chances of catching up. View

Actually, every band you listed in your post comes from England.

Rolling Stones - London, England
The Who - West London, England
David Bowie - Brixton, London, England

"American Music" would be more along the lines of:

Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc etc etc. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of good jazz players that was born out of the musical uprising in the United States back between the 30's and 50's. View

Sony ripping people off? I've heard plenty of people say this but they never seem to be able to provide any proof of this. If you ask me, this time I'll save you the trouble, it seems the Xbox 360 has been ripping people off when it comes to overall value. Allow me to weigh the function options:

Wireless?
PS3: Included (free)
360: Sold separately ($99.99)

HD movie player?
PS3: Blu-ray included
360: not included (HD-DVD player sold separately but is now obsolete)

HDMI?
PS3: Standard
360: Was not standard in earliest models (Sony's standard inclusion forced Microsoft's hand on this)

Bluetooth?
PS3: Yes
360: No

Media disc storage?
PS3: BD format (ranges from 25GB to 400GB [in recent tech breakthroughs])
360: DVD-9 format (7.5GB max capacity. Larger games require compression which lowers audio and video quality)

Online?
PS3: Yes (free)
360: Yes ($50 annually)

Hard-drive?
PS3: Included (40/80/160GB models [160GB not released yet]) Non-proprietary HDD setup allows users to upgrade the PS3 due to it being a more open-platform console. A standard notebook 2.5 HDD can be inserted for use allowing HDD capacities up to 250GB and possibly 500GB in the future.

Price comparison: Western Digital Scorpio 250GB HDD = $99.00 (Newegg)

360: Included only Pro and Elite models. Arcade models have no HDD functionality. Due to Microsoft using a proprietary HDD for their 360 consoles the price for a upgraded or new HDD is much higher than the cost for a 2.5 drive for the PS3.

Price Comparison: 360 HDD proprietary HDD 20GB = $96.99 (Newegg)

Reliability?
PS3: Failure rate has been mostly non-existent. Firmware updates have been known to cause issues with BD drives failing. Problems mostly isolated and SCE has issued free-repairs or replacements on occasion when problems arise with firmware updates.

360: RRoD. Disc read errors. Hardware malfunctions due to rushed design and poor circulation within the case. Console has been known to catch fire or melt in certain places at times. Customer outcry against the 360 malfunction problems have forced Microsoft to eat 1.2 billion to establish a permanent 3-yr warranty to all 360 consoles purchased.

----------------------------- -------------------------

Yeah, while I will concede that the 360 has managed to corner a large part of the software market due to incentive packages (read:writing checks) and have built themselves an impressive software library, I still will not accept the silly notion that somehow Sony is ripping people off while Microsoft is some saint of the industry.

Yeah, your not convincing me at all. Also, I call bulls*** on you "working with MS and Sony". View

I only offer one genuine thank you to the Xbox console:

"Thank you for initiating the drive for improving online capabilities for console systems and forcing Sony and Nintendo to compete and innovate to try and provide better services."

oh, also:

"Thank you for turning the gaming industry in to a vitriolic and angry battleground of fanboys by inciting the most drawn out and condescending console war since the industry was created. Thanks for influencing the market by flooding it with your moneyhat dollars instead of letting the industry decide who should reap the benefits of exclusives. If your system was so darn good then you shouldn't have to pay developers millions of dollars to ONLY develop for it."

Found this on their website
"How long can I stay on line before I have to log out?

As long as you like. You'll never be timed out, and you never have to log out! That's one of the many benefits of being a Comcast High-Speed Internet subscriber. Your time spent online is completely unlimited, with no additional charges."

That's in their customer guide FAQ page at Comcast.com. If you go to the question "How long can I stay on before I have to log out?" and click it they still claim they give unlimited access and usage.

Gotta say....if they ever cut my service off I'll just switch to DSL or whatever. It might be slower but I'm not paying $100 bucks a month just so I can surf the net or play Warhammer Online. View

Because, unlike in Japan, the PS3 sales in the U.S. have risen to comparable or higher levels than the weekly or monthly sales output of the 360. Even before MGS4 hit the PS3 was rising more and more above the monthly sales of the 360 in the U.S. (not all the time, but quite a few times) and has consistently outsold the 360 worldwide since like October of 2007.

The 360 has outsold the PS3 in weekly sales only twice. The first time was when Ace Combat 6 was released and the second time was when Tales of Vesperia was released and both times the sales of the 360 dropped back below PS3 sales within a single week.

The PS3 has taken the 360's nearly 8 million console head start and has whittled it down to only a 5 million lead in a year and a half. The reason why people claim the PS3 will catch the 360 is because the evidence being shown supports that idea. View
