Wrong, it doesn't cost 2500$ to get a machine that will run the latest games. Even at max settings.
Top of the line Nvidia or ATI card will do you good. Set you back 200-500$
Depending on if it's ATI or Nvidia and which top of the line card.
Then all you need is a cheap dual-core cpu, 2GB RAM, 750W PSU, motherboard of course. And you use your old hard drives, burners, cards and whatnot. That's still around 1000$, Less if you went with ATI, (Although a bit less performance.)
That will play pretty much any game on max right now. And should for 1-2 years.. Then not on max for another 2-3 years.
Even not on Max settings, it's still going to look better than the console version. You don't realize how much higher of detail PC games are played on than consoles. PC Gamers can and do play games on resolutions higher than 1080p.
If you only build a PC that is capable of playing games at the same detail the consoles at the time. Then you you can upgrade your computer to match the performance of each new console that comes out, for LESS THAN THE CONSOLES COST!!!
But if you want to be playing the latest games at extreme quality settings.. Then yeah it's going to cost you a bit.. That's the price you pay to have the very best graphics. But if console type quality is all you want, then PC gaming can be very cheap.
