The consoles use old and cheap graphics chips.. ATI doesn't work on chips for the consoles.. They just take a cheap one of theirs, and fit it to work with the console.

If the next console generation is so exciting, then the next PC GPU generation is even more exciting <_<. View

Wow, theres companies that get away with giving that horrible of monthly caps? That's insane..

The one I have here in Canada is 10mbps(25mbps temp boosts) and a 100gb monthly limit. But not an actual CAP. View

I just torrent it as soon as it comes out.

And if it turns out to be a good game, I'll go and pay for it later. View

You mean....

Sorta like what CUDA does on the GPU?

Since a GPU is already made of of 100's of little cores. LOL.

Look's like CPU's will be becoming more like GPU's overtime.. So what's the point. Just let the GPU take over :).

VIVA LA CUDA! View

This is the video that picture is from.

Your friends don't have to be nerdy, to pressure you into using Mac's.

Secondly.. Coming on a gaming website and telling someone to get rid of their nerdy friends? that's... lol. View

Depends on what part of the UK. Some ares have very high speed connection for affordable prices. While other areas internet infrastructure is much less developed and much more expensive.

Indeed there are some places in the UK where 100mbps connections are common place. View

They did a full scale test. Why not? It allows a person to see results of many cards grouped together. They didn't do JUST the 9800GTX's.. View

Why the hell is everyone using 9800GTX+ in their comments for reviews lately?

The f*cking 9800GTX+ isn't out for a few weeks still. There's no way you can use it in comparisons yet.

And BTW! You can get a 9800GTX for $200 now. That's 100$ less than a 4870, and only a little less performance. View

I love my Windows XP. And just because a new OS comes out, is no reason to have to change.

So what if Vista came out. Doesn't mean XP is useless now. It's still as it always is. So you don't HAVE to choose between a Mac or Vista or Linux or whatever!

And with the news about XP being supported for years to come now, that's even more assurance :). View

Dude, are you even thinking before you type?

The 9800GTX+ isn't out yet. Do you even know what the + stands for?

It stands for 55nm. 9800GTX+ is going to be Nvidia's first 55nm card. It's just a die shrink of the 9800GTX. Which will allow for less power consumption and some higher clock rates.

The "9800GTX" is only $200 right now. Nvidia has dropped the price so they can sell them before the 9800GTX+ comes out. Which also is going to be priced around $225. View

@JoelR: You know what's funnier tho?

A 4870 just barely beats a 9800GTX...

4870=$300
9800GTX=$200 (Price just dropped a few days ago)

Sell the 9800GTX and step it up to a GTX 280 or 260. Sli bad idea of those 2 choices. View

Well.. Think of it this way.. The 8800 cards and the 9800 cards use the same core. The G92 core.

So the performance between them can only be so much, since it's always the same core. It's just minor tweaks to said core and board design that help improve performance.

If you already have an 8800 anything, I wouldn't suggest upgrading to a 9800 anything. If you have the money, wait for the price to drop some more on the GTX 260 or 280.

Or sell your 8800 and buy a 9800+ when it comes out. View

Yeah, that's because Nvidia has been slow on it's transition to 55nm. All over Nvidia's card so far in the past year have been 65nm. While most of ATI's have been 55nm. Which runs a lot cooler and allowing for higher clock speeds.

But now that Nvidia is finally switching to 55nm, they are going to gain back the ground they lost on the whole heat issue.

9800GTX+ ftw, GTX280+ is gonna be even better tho.. Cause it won't be so hot and a lot better clock :P. Can't wait. View

Well that's 6 months ago...

Which means, you payed $8.5 a month, as a fee to have it 6 month's earlier, instead of now :).

Which I think is ok, It's like paying for the privilege of a high speed connection ;). You don't NEED IT, but it's nice to have :P. View

@Fanboi:

Actually, Nvidia is expected to "master" the GT200 cores at the beginning of 2009. With an expected release of 55nm versions.

But I would actually guess they might manage to get 55nm versions out this year. Since they have successfully created 55nm version of the G92 core. With some card manufacturers already having finished putting together their 55nm product versions. So they will feel safer moving to 55nm.

Only time will tell. But the future looks good :) View
