It feels like people are looking for something to get mad over, now.
I don't understand why silver customers should be pissed. They're not paying monthly for Live. Microsoft is finally giving some sort of benefits to those that pay, besides playing online. I don't think that it's their job to take care of customers that aren't paying for a Black Friday sale; it's a perk of the pay-to-play membership, and a really minimal one at that.

And also, the deals aren't that great, both in value and in quality of selection, imo. The only thing worth having on that list is Rez and I bought that the day it was released on the Arcade.

And as mentioned, Black Friday is a US thing, so I don't know why the world is losing sleep over saving a hundred Microsoft points on a Sonic Unleased theme or w/e. View

Montreal ring a bell? There are a ton of developers in Montreal; plenty happens in Canada that is video game related. MIGS (the Montreal International Game Summit) was just held last week, as well.

"Defeats the purpose"? I doubt watching on a 60" TV instead of a 15" laptop screen is defeating the purpose, even if you have to choose the movie on the laptop. What a nitpicker. Can't believe this is news. View

Obviously it'll kill game rentals. The game store should sell codes for that then, I suppose. As for used game sales, that's the whole freakin point, man. As I said, IF YOU READ THE ARTICLE, you would have known that the whole point of this is to STOP used game sales since the developers don't see a penny from those sales. If you can't afford all the games you want then, wait for them to go down in price, or buy only the games you really want. It's not a hard concept. View

I'm not "spending" any time installing. There's this thing called the world. I don't need to do anything for it to install, I can walk away and let it do its thing and come back whenever. I can make a sandwich or do whatever else I was already planning on doing. Obviously they saw a need to offer the option and plenty of people are embracing the feature with open arms. I'm sure they didn't just decide to do that this year; the complaints have been many and they developed a solution, which took time. Yes, it's too bad that it took so long, but I don't understand how you can say that nobody complained about drive speed or noise in the past, because I've definitely heard plenty. View

Unless you install all four discs of Lost Odyssey or any other multi-disc game (which you don't need to, you only need to install the disc you're using atm), there's no way a game would take up 20GB. The most it would take is ~7GB and even then we see a lot of games that are less than this. It's absolutely worth it, as mentioned above it saves your drive speed, and in data intensive games like LO, it does make a difference in loading. If you want your DVD drive to die faster and have M$ charge you to replace it, then have fun. The rest of us will play our games like they were meant to be played. View

Hammy, there is no serial number on 360 games. Your idea makes no sense. If you're really that bothered with changing discs then maybe you're not cut out for gaming; the benefits of installing greatly outweigh my not wanting to burn three calories to get up and put a disc in. View
