I’ve seen plenty rants and I understand them to a point. But seriously, this is insane. I have a 60GB Backwards Compatible PS3. I have the memory card transfer hardware. Yet I find myself still gaming my PS2 games on my… PS2. Why? I don’t really find it a big deal to play PS2 on my PS3. The upconversion to 1080p isn’t handled very gracefully and I’d much rather see a smaller screen with crisper graphics than my PS3 playing a PS2 game at 50″ and making it look… not super.

If you want to play PS2 games and it’s really a bother to switch to “Video 3″ from “Video 2″ then I guess nobody can help you. But what are you supposed to do when your PS2 bites the dust you ask? BUY A NEW PS2. They’re $99, first off. A new PS3 game is $59. It’s not going to break the bank. New systems are still being made. And if this happens in ten years, there will be a solution to play your PS2 games somehow. Sony isn’t going to abandon the PS2 library if everything you mentioned was true about it (which it is). Yeah, why would he want Uncharted 3 to NOT happen? It'll make him a boatload of dough, that's for sure. View

Um, where did you hear that? Sounds like they were severely misinformed o.0 View

It really is wrong... This is NOT AN ATTACK ON PIRATES. They merely included a newer dashboard update on the discs, so firmware will have to be patched. It just happens to affect them, that's all. And it really isn't hard to alter the firmware for a new update on the discs. Geez. View

Exactly! I'm almost considering buying a PS2 slim, I have a fat PS2 and a backwards compatible PS3. It'd be nice to have an extra PS2 lying around the house. I can see myself keeping a PS2 in every room of my house when I get older. Cheap, cheap entertainment now. But the quality does not lessen. View

No, it's free to students that are eligible for the program, which I am. Was able to download straight from Microsoft. View

"Come on." Really? I'm glad that's not a concern to you, but not everyone is as privileged as you. Looking at the big picture in 2009, yes that can be and is still a problem. My PC generates a ridiculous amount of heat and my room is always much hotter than the rest of our apartment. Without air conditioning, there's plenty reason to limit how long my PC is on. Apple has never released any hardware upgrades for the iPhone product line in November. That is the iPod/Macbook line. Each phone has had about a year's life on the market. June/July is the time for iPhone revamps. So you'll be waiting until June(ish) 2010.

Having upgraded from my "2G stinker," I can tell you that it's an absolute delight. The speed is phenominal, the 3G and GPS are also new for me, as well as the MUCH louder speaker (either I blew my 2G speaker or this one is 200-300% louder on the 3GS). Plus, we have the compass, better battery than the 3G, and if you swing for the grandstand, a whopping 32GB of storage (I did). And don't forget the video recording, and Nike+ is also now included, which I will try to take advantage of. New graphics chip and double the ram certainly contribute to the increase in speed. Also, my lock button at the top is acting up on my 2G, so I'm glad to have this replacement come so timely. View

I just got my 3GS and the first thing that I tested was Peggle, 2G vs 3GS. The speed increase has relieved any doubts that I had in my mind. View

I'm a "core" MGS fan and I don't give two sh!ts about MGO. I wanted something that I can use and out of five announcements, I can use none. I still have my PS1 copy of MGS1 and I don't touch MGO. Thanks for nothing, literally, Konami. View
