I got really excited about Spore first time I had heard of it and couldn't wait for it to get released.
When it got cracked I decided to download it to make sure it was any good before buying it. I do this quite often, and the games that are good I do buy.

But this game wasa total mess. The creating was fun, but there was no gameplay and it seems like the target audience is 4-8 year olds. I stopped playing after 3-4h and haven't picked it up again. Had I actually bought this game I would have been pissed about how boring it was. Hell, I didn't buy it and I'm still pissed.

You could have done it anyway. No PS3 games (that I know of) so far have been really region locked, which means you can buy them in one region and play in another. Actually I've bought a couple of games from USA myself and they play perfectly well on my European PS3.

The thing that had people worried was a statement that you could only download levels created by people in your region. View

I doubt that there is a legal difference between taking a photo or a screenshot of something and then uploading it. Maybe there is.

And I did read the article. It still is a stupid reason, they could mirror each regional server to other regions for example.
I don't have UT3, is there a similar problem like this there? View

When I first found out about LBP, it was the most hyped I got about any game. But lately I've gotten less and less interested due to MM's stupidity. First I find out they won't allow the use of images from HDD (only from PS Eye) and now this?

I think the author's entire argument fails once he throws Fallout 3 into the mix.

Fallout 3 is not being created by the same developers as the previous Fallout games, and most Fallout fans are not impressed by Bethesda's games. So we definitely have a reason to be suspicious.

And this quote is so stupid:

"The game designers at Bethesda and Blizzard are (arguably) the best at what they do. They have been working on Fallout 3 and Diablo III for years now. They know what they’re doing.
Would it kill the fanboys to let them get on with their jobs?"

That is assuming that developers are trying to make the best possible game. Most of us know that's not the case, but that developers are trying to make as much money as possible. And to do that they need to cater to a large crowd. That means simplifying, dumbing down and everything else that made Oblivion a crappy game but that still made a lot of money.

So my opinion is: James Cottee f*** off right back. View

Why would they stop milking GH? Because people are going to get tired and move on to the next thing (Rock band?), just see what happened to THPS vs Skate.

I'm sure Actavision is aware of that, but to them it's all about the quick buck and not about thinking long term. View

HS was a really good game
I think Ninja Theory said this a couple of weeks ago already?

Anyway, it's a shame if we don't get a sequel. I thought HS was a really good game, unfortunately it was too short (rushed). It would probably have sold much better if the relatively short gametime had not scared people off.
But I'm still very glad I bought it. I had constantly fun while playing.

My idea for the sequel: (loosely based on the asian movie Joong-cheon)
In the afterlife Nariko has to face some serious challenges (that few people manage to complete), a long journey fighting demons and such, and if she makes it she gets resurrected as a semi-goddess. I'd play it =) View

56" is definitely big enough. I don't have quite that big screen (though I sit pretty close to mine to compensate =) ) and I can certainly tell the difference between SD and HD, even if its "only" 720.

I do understand why they make games in a lower resolution.
Just like I believe GTA4 has a higher frame rate thanks to the low resolution, and I would probably choose higher frame rate over resolution. But the low resolution in GTA4 can still be distracting for me at times. View

Don't try to act like you know me. If you have a big screen you notice when something is in SD and when it is in HD. Or are you actually claiming there is no notable difference between high def and standrad def media?

Don't be fanboys
The resolution and frame rate of the video is so low that it is totally impossible to compare the graphics between the two versions. If you say it looks better on one machine, it's probably because you own that system and you're a fanboy.

This is something that's been bothering me about these "PS3 vs 360 comparisons". If you're gonna compare them, at least give us decent resolution and frame rate. View
