The reason it is considered as such and it's not "Baffling" or "Mind boggling". It's that the PC is not really competition to the 360 or the PS3. Those are the 2 that are fighting it out. Also it is where Dev's plan to make most of their money anymore due to piracy and other such stuff. the vast majority of PC gamers are into WoW or Counterstrike or Tower defense as opposed to Left 4 dead or Little big planet.. In the defence of the American culture. Parents feel that hiding their kids is better then talking about it. Their fear of "Daddy's little girl" going and having sex and getting an STD is huge and many feel that hiding sex altogether is better then exposing them... Have them fear sex as opposed to understand or see it. They also feel in many ways "My son can't get a plasma grenade and blow aliens to pieces in a huge space station" but "Daddy's little girl" can go out and get laid... All in all I think it's the wrong way to do it and this is probably just a small part of it but I would just say probably 99% of parents worry more about their kid getting pregnant then having a beer or seeing a dead iraqi on the news... View

Well those are my reasons for liking it. I liked GTA4... The others were kinda lame though... The only time the hype gets you is when you are expecting something you don't get... I am not expecting this game to move the world or solve global warming. I am expecting a lot of replay value and enjoyment. Every video I see makes me more and more excited. It's all ingame and interviews and very little is ever repeated showing massive amounts of variety.... I am not a "kid" but I like games of all forms. There are many "FPS grumps" Who think anything where you can't blow a body into 17 different pieces is a kids game. There are others who think that without extensive challenge and many many hours of repetative gameplay for that minor upgrade is worth it. I play games for fun. Lego games are fun. SSHD is fun. Earthworm jim is fun, Mega man X is fun, Donkey kong country is fun. LBP looks like a lot of fun. I like that they are "Cute"... I have seen enough dead people and people blown into 17 pieces in real life to not care about it in a game... Don't get me wrong I love a good shooter or horror game every now and then but whould the same people who cry about childish games have even played games back in the NES or Sega days where the closest thing you got to blood were huge red globs in Mortal Kombat....

How old are you?

Maybe it's nostalgia for old school 2d(Sort of) Platforming. Maybe it's the fact that it's something my GF can get into(Only other games we have played have been the lego ones really) and we can play co-op with my brother and his wife and all be creative together. Maybe I really want to design a cool batman level with stalagtights hanging from the batcave and make a cool bat mobile break through some rocks and have "bat sack" jump out and kick the crap out of the penguin... There are so many reasons why I want this game. If you are too young to remember some older games like excitebike it may not appeal. or maybe you are new to gaming.

Just because something is cartoony doesn't mean its for kids. i.e. southpark/ family guy. but sometimes adults can enjoy them as well which is where this game falls I believe ala Finding Nemo or Incredibles.... If this were a movie it would be made by Pixar... Some adults think Pixar is lame... I like them a lot.

This game is about possibilities that are yet untapped and it's exciting to see what will happen and where this will lead us in the future. This game will be a large bookmark in gaming history just like Doom or Super Mario Bors or Pong... View

Edit: from what I understand there is a "Report" button the second you go into a level. As well there are "Age restrictions" on levels. If you go to the kiddie levels and find Penis land. The owner of that will have a perma ban. However Sharing Penis land with a friend who knows what it is wont be a problem.... Or so I understand..."

The same has been said about innapropriate action in "Home" I belive Phil said it while he was still in something along the lines of "You would need to move houses and buy a new PS3 to get back on PSN" Pretty harsh. So for those that do make stuff like that and ipload it to the network I feel its a good thing. They will get reported and we will have the douchebags sorted out from decent people and thats pretty good policing to me.

Also you talk "Potential" Well 80 million is a lot but I doubt it will be anywhere near that. There are soooooo many casual gamers out there and so few people who will make whole levels... I see the point but everytime someone uploads a penis it will get reported so long as someone plays the level. I think it's a pretty good system... View

Did you really find it short? I mean I went and beat it 2 times and got the Rhino weapon(Widowmaker) so it had a ton of replay to me but yeah... Maybe a once through would be dull. I still think it was rather long so long as you did any amount of exploring... View

I agree it XNA is good but didn't Wiiware offer basically the same thing and the monitor and limit the amount of games allowed to be placed after a rigorous(Handpicked) process of choice.

Really I don't know all that much about XNA and I do agree with you to a point. The truth to me though is I am much more excited to see what my brother will make or my girlfriend or "the wood"(He's my PSN buddy) then some random no name studio that will probably be making a junk flash game...

Truth is what has more potential? Who knows really. I have found certain truths to hold true when looking at the different platforms. What Sony and MM are doing is super risky and ambitious compared to XNA. I doubt they will let someone make a "Penis land" game and put it on XNA. Sony might just have a storm to fight with ugc.

The truths I find would be seen as huge flamebait but whatever the case I think LBP is miles ahead of anything else out there along with many of these people...

If it turns out well then great but where is it? When is it coming View

Anyone remember the old NES game where you could make levels with and editor and try and get past it on your bike. I thought it was the greatest thing ever and still am fond of those days... This is like that times 1000. I can't wait. I haven't been this stoked for a game since I first got my mits on Donkey Kong Country =D View

I have 3 mics and 20 Disc games and 26 PSN titles... 15 games preorcered and fully paid off before the end of the year... Don't generalize people. I am not in school either. I have ajob and buy everything myself... Wasn't there a statistic recently showing age ranges for what ages played what system? 1 sec while I google.

Well they aren't the full 60 bucks. They have been 50$ consistently... Also have you played them? They are pretty full with tons of replay.The starwars games ended without any backtracking(There is a lot of backtracking) or seeing extra levels or anything at around 13 hours when playing Co-op with my GF... Not to say your wrong but I feel they are worthy games to be on discs. There is quite a bit too them and I enjoy them... Kinda an old school flare I miss. May not be your fortay but i would say rent them if you haven't played them for sure... View
