Well it depends on what you are looking for in innovation my friend. Things in the game like lighting, destruction, physics are all top notch and "New" to the next gen of gaming at least to the degree we have seen in vids. What it is doing that is most important is setting a new engine up for people to work with. Hence the 60 million dollars and the 4 1/2 cell units it is supposed to run on. They weren't just making a game they were making tools for others to use and work with. The engine is completely unique and defining of the "Next gen" capabilities.

AS far as features to the game... While the explosions and everything "Look" absolutely amazing will it be worth the money if the game lacks in story, length and otherwise... Depends. Some gamers are GRaphics whores some love story some love innovation in the sense you write about. "Show me something I have yet to see before besides pretty". I don't really know what it will do different. From the videos I have seen I can see where it can feel very intense at times. It looks intense and if the AI(Another innovation) does what is seen in vids the wow. That is an accomplishment.

I really don't know what you would like to see. Give an example of what it is you would want out of the game. Shooters are very samey anymore and it's harder and harder to come up with new ideas and such... All I can say is game on bro and hope you enjoy it =D View

I don't get it. I know this was supposed to be one of the big games this year but from watching gameplay vids and such I feel kinda disappointed myself. It looks like they took some good elements from some games that usually work well... I don't know where they messed it up though.

Take God of War for example. It had 3 things which made it golden. 1. Scale. Everything was huge and you look into the distance and think "It can't be that far away" but it is. 2. Pacing. Kill some reagular mobs, Kill a basilisk, Work your way through archers, Kill mobs, Kill boss basilisk, let some guy die. Variety in pacing and keeping it fast and different is key. 3. Story. Who wouldn't like to play as the "god of War" The outcast of the gods and get revenge on them while changing destiny itself by taking out the sisters of fate.

Why do I mention GOW in this? Well. this game seems to take a lot from the games. Upgrade what you use. Magic, Projectiles, Weapons. Get new gear and more life by essentially leveling up. This game however from gameplay seems to lack all 3 elements that made GOW. Sci Fi Norse mythos is not that appealing... I am a member of the Asatru faith and this seems kinda lame for me. Scale? Some stuff looks big but especially on next gen consoles I hoped for more... Pacing? Well bosses seem like tank and spanks. Not as much skill or any kind of button presses or anything just hit dodge hit dodge... I know if they did all those things though they would be accused of copying GOW but they could have done different things... Call down other gods like Thor or Odin to help out or what not. Give you rage meters or something different as in the more Damage you take the more the gods are angered and you fight faster and harder. There are many new and different elements they could have added and seems like they didn't...

Maybe it's the incredible amount of Sci Fi games on the 360 lately or maybe its something else all together but I just don't know what this games deal is. Please enlighten me someone as to what this game offers or does different... I mean it's a action Sci fi RPG right? Well from what I have seen the RPG element is small and the action is simplistic and "samey" it seems. They nailed the Sci Fi though but I feel thats kinda getting worn out...

Edit: I really am not trying to be a fanboy as I was looking forward to this more before gameplay footage and all the previews and such... I feel like I am missing something and would really like to learn more. View

I for one will not go back and beat all my games again. I might load up a few at the end and get a few trophys for completion but no. Not me. I have currently about 20 PS3 games and 14 PSN titles... I love Burnout but I worked too hard to get my Gold Cars and won't do that again... Along with many other games... View

Main reason. Networking. Online you may get into a game of COD and find that your lagging and such. Probably because the host is on WiFi or has a worthless internet provider. With networking there is no slow down or lag. apart from that.... /shrug. View

I agree man. The reason there are no people FYI is they would lose their E rating if they had people in the game i.e. getting hit by cars. Also I feel it would take away from the core of racing and not killing spree... Kinda makes me wonder what they are gonna do when they introduce motorcycles in the Xpac... Good review View

Well... I can agree and disagree. How was Warcraft, Starcraft or Diablo super innovative or "That much better" Then other competition? Starcraft I can see to an extent. They did a really good RTS but still... I played World of Warcraft for about a year and a half total... It is cookie cutter and simplified to attract a mainstream audience of carebears and not a hardcore atmosphere... They are in it for the money and do that very well. View

Well marvel is more diverse for sure. Many more hero's in their world where as DC seems to be going a lot more with their Vertigo franchises and stuff lately. I also prefer DC but I feel for a "Massive" game like this Marvel might be better suitd. Better boss fights and players wont have OP "Superman" powers. Maybe wolverine or rogue or Gambit type powers... That is however "harder" to do in the DC universe. I hope they get it right.

I don't usually jump in the middle of what could be a flame war but this stuff happens. It will probably happen to the PS3 soon too(Note I am not a fanboy. I even wrote a review on the game). I say give them a chance to fix it. It's brand new... Games are getting more and more complex anymore. You can't expect every game to have the polish something like MGS 4 has... Maybe you can but I don't. besides they said it should be back up in what? 20 minutes? View

I don't see how it could have worked. Streaming a game like MGS4 to your PSP. Let alone there are not enough buttons or the lack of 2 joy sticks... I wish it could work but it's unrealistic to think it could really... Still I would love to play a lot of the PSN games I have or older yet compatible games. I mean I have a 60 gig model so if I could play FF7 or something at work from my PS3 that would have been sweet. View

It is kinda crap cause... They will give you a part of a game like say Burnout Paradise and have you say "Drive into every wall 10 or more times and see if anything glitches"

Can get old I bet but I still wouldn't mind making a paycheck doin it. View
