Dude what do you mean it's nothing? If you actually plan to keep your console for 5 years then it's like you're paying for it once again. I prefer to have the money to buy one more game a year than pay for a P2P online service WITHOUT dedicated servers...

SE is proving to be kind of stupid these days. As a company it's focus is to make as more money as possible. So FFXIII on x360 is a rational decision for them given the overall more sales and the money that MS paid them to release it on x360.
But FFVII is a different story. Everything with the name FFVII that they released so far has earned them a s*itload of money. By now they must surely know that if they make a remake of FFVII, it's going to get them more way (and I mean WAY) more sales than SO4, Last remnant and Uninfinite Discovery combined together. However they seem quite a stuborn bunch lately as if they don't want our money... View

Dude with 140 million PS2's out there, I think that there are very few people that play games that actually don't have a PS2.
I own a 60GB PS3. Once tried to play a PS2 game and that was it. I still have my PS2 so what's the point?
What Hirai says is for people that bought PS2 and don't have any plans or don't have the money to buy a next-gen console. For them Sony is there and still suports the PS2. Not anyone can afford or want to buy a new piece of hardware every 3-4 years. Imagine that you bought an Xbox during it's 3rd year of it's life cycle. Where was Microsoft for these people when they pulled the pug? They just stopped supporting it and that's it. The same goes for Gamecube. Up until now I haven't seen any MS or Nintendo representative saying that they would keep supporting their consoles for 10 years like Sony did. All I hear from MS is that it will have a longer life cycle than the original Xbox. As if it could be any shorter. And who says that if and when I decide to buy an Xbox 360, MS won't pull the plug in the next year? At least with Sony I don't have to worry about that... View

By now everyone's seen the multiplayer video of Killzone 2 and I have to say I'm very surprised. I didn't expect it look that good and be so interesting. I always thought about the single player campaign and how that will come up and up until this year's E3 I don't think that anyone knew or gave much attention to the multiplayer part of the game.
I'm very happy to see that they give as much attention to it as they do to the campaign and from everything I've seen so far, it looks like they completely nailed it. View

TGS for the SE announcement and Leipzig for this mystery game. It's developed in Europe so I'll doubt they're going to announce it in TGS View

LBP is going to be a genre defining game, so it'll be GOTY hands down.
MGS4 maybe the best game I've ever played but it doesn't have that fresh look LBP has and also they're a lot of people who dislike MGS4 (maybe because it's THAT good actually)... View

It's VGchartz and it's wrong. Microsoft's Greenberg already stated back in MAY that the difference was at 5 million consoles.
Greeneberg: "Today Xbox 360 has a 5-million-unit console sales lead on a global basis based on most recently public reported data from both companies." And the source:
http://www.destructoid.com/...
Since then PS3 continues to outsell X360 worldwide (even in the US) so the difference is less then five million right now, and with the NPD numbers out for June where x360 is down 200K only in the US, then probably is around or even under 4 million right now. View

Movies are universal, but don't forget, not all movies have a worldwide release date. For example look at Wall-E. It's released in the US but not in most European countries, some of them releasing it in September. This results in many cases, for movies to be out on dvd and blu-ray in the states but currently to be in the theaters in European countries.
So if Sony does not have a region locked video store only for US, this could kill boxoffice numbers for some movies currently playing in European theaters...
So yes as long as not all movies have a worldwide release date in theaters, dvd and blu-ray, then unfortunately it's the only thing that they can do for now
