Everything you see is in game. It just looks THAT good. I've played it in gamescom this summer, both demos. When I started playing I thought I was watching cgi cutseens and when the choices of what to do next appeared on screen, my jaw literally dropped...

The above picture for example is pure gameplay and I've played it. It's just UNBELIEVABLY good. Gameplay-wise the game sucks you in it's world, I couldn't stop playing just to see what happens next. I also played each demo twice, doing things different each time and the story unfolded differently with each playthrough. The whole experience was as compelling as it gets and I just couldn't believe the graphics.
You have to see it to believe it, easily one of my most anticipated games of 2010 View

God of War Collection will be released probably at the same month as GoWIII but in the beginning of March insted of the end, which is the release date for GoWIII, but nothing is yet decided.
The only sure thing is that the EU version of the Ultimate Edition of GoWIII WILL include the GoW Collection along with everything else announced for the USA version and will retail for 130+ Euros.

Let me rephrase that. When I said that games tend to be on sale a lot sooner, I meant that they discount the games a lot sooner than anywhere in the world right now.
The fact is that UK remains the second cheaper location in the world and in many occasions it is the cheapest one, especially in discounted games. In the UK I see games that are on sale for 2-3 weeks and then they are heavily discounted. In the US the games don't get discounted that easily. I don't see why british people keep whining when they get the better deals... View

The only ones getting constantly screwed is the rest of Europe and the rest of the world, not UK. You get the cheapest games in Europe, and the cheapest consoles. PS3 retails for 299BP which is roughly 345Euros and the rest of Europe gets it with 399Euros. The 360 Elite retails for 220BP (255Euros) and it's 290 for the rest of Europe. Same thing also happens with the 60GB and the Arcade.
Not to mention the crazy discounts that british retailers, and the new games are also cheaper. The most expensive games retail for 39.99BP which is roughly 46Euros. You can't find a new game under 59.90Euros anywhere else in Europe. So instead of whining all the time, you can be glad that you are the second cheaper region in the world, and in many occasions THE cheaper region in the world (remember that the US still waits for a platinum version of uncharted which retails for 19.99BP in the uk). Also the games tend to be on sale a lot sooner in UK than the rest of the world. View

What troubles me the most is the following. DQIX is the no1 seller in amazon for weeks now. The reviews are not all 1s and 5s. In fact there are more 2s than 3s, more 3s than 4s and more 4s than 5s. And since this article was posted there are even more 2s, 3s and 4s but the 5s don't go up. This game sold 2.3 million copies in 2 days. If it was that great there would be many more people rating it with a 5, than trolls rating it with a 1. The many 2s and 3s are leading me to believe that this game is mediocre and that there is some truth to it, not the 1s. The thing is, that these rating maybe true or they may not be, I'm not dismissing any possibility, I'm just leaning to this being a mediocre game; of course I will be the final judge of what I like or not.

Also, as I said earlier, while recognizing the dangers of open reviews, most of the buyers' reviews are spot on (if the review number is high of course). Also if you check different retailers, you'll notice that most of the time there is no difference between them when it comes to ratings of the same game. View

I said that "most of the times" I find the amazon rating spot on. Look, I have a DSLite and a DSi and I also hope that this game is good. But don't mix your hopes and expectations for a game, with what it really is until you have it in your hands. I'm not the type that sees a screenshot and a video of a game and says "wow, it's gonna be amazing, perfect, the best thing ever". I don't also do that even if it has a high profile label like DQ. I've seen and played a lot of great games on the DS, but also a lot of high profile shovelware on every console. The fact is that you don't know if the game is any good, or if it isn't more than me. What I'm trying to say is that if you don't like the reviews, don't be ready to dismiss them if they don't meet your expectations for the game.

2chan may have a thread in the forums for discussion, just as kotaku and numerous other sites reports it as news, it doesn't mean that they are trolls. Expect this also to be a thread in neogaf and other forums, that doesn't mean anything.
Most of the times I find amazon ratings spot on. You'll see Demon's Souls with 4.5 stars, Yakuza 3 and RE5 with 4, SO4 with 3.5 and Infinite Undiscovery and The Last Remnant with 3 stars. That's pretty spot on. Also if you read the reviews (if you can - I had a japanese friend translate some of them), they look pretty legit and their complains are justified with valid points, it's not bashing.

@PS360WII: What you're saying makes no sense at all. The DS is Japan's console of choice with a huge install base. There is not a gamer in Japan that doesn't own a DS.
Just because it's a DQ it doesn't mean that it has to be amazing... View

Agreed, but his tactics are hit and miss. A true insider wouldn't have said that about project Trico. That alone is proof that he doesn't know what he's talking about.
What he does, I can do it too, look:
"I work for Sony and we're thinking about a GT5 November release date but we're not sure yet".
Then if I'm right I will rub my comment up everybody's face, if I'm wrong, I would say, "I never said that GT5 was going to be released in November". He does that all the time... View

I cannot believe you still listen to this guy. Look at his pre-E3 comments:

"That "Trico" Footage isn't real game footage, man. Whoever thinks it is, stop believing it. The game is so far removed from that nearly 1 and a half year old footage (and that was when I seen it) it's not even funny."

About Kojima's game (not even close...):

And many many more. I cannot believe there are people that still listen to him... He's just an attention wh@re. Check his comment history, he's wrong 9/10 times. Hell, I could have told that they're going to release a firmware version 3.0 at some point... View

If this is released during the holiday season along with a price cut, it has the potential to sell a ton of copies, judging from the success Nintendogs had. That way most of the families that own a PS3 will also have a PSeye for their PS3s. Then the motion controllers will not seem expensive their timing for spring 2010 will be right and probably bundled with a collection of mini games. View
