Agreed... kinda
It seems like EA doesn't mind if you make anything besides football. Look at Sony. They still make basketball, occasionally hockey and EA doesn't mind. But if you make football, they trip out.
The question lies in the sales. Currently the 360 accounts for a majority of EA sales. So would they being willing to take a loss for about a year to prove a point and hopefully push Sony into first.
This is a 50/50. One of two things happens here (if it's even true) -
1. MS does this and makes a fortune by pulling in all the 2K fanboys with a side helping of Sega fanboys who would associate the line with the Dreamcast days.
or
2. They do it and it backfires. The games aren't good. EA gets mad and bails, and MS falls to last fast.
That's about the only to options. If this happens, it's win really big or fail really bad.
