No chance!
If you think Resistance 2 is GOTY material, you smoke rocks. If all you have is a PS3, then it's better than nothing, but for gamers with a choice, it's not even close. MGS4 was great, although a bit long-winded and increasingly un-interactive, and Little Big Planet is far too casual, at least for me.

Sorry PS3 enthusiasts, GOTY 2008 is most likely going to be Fallout 3, which looks plays best on 360 or PC. Not to mention a little thing I like to call 'exclusive DLC'.
I loved MGS4 and all, but Fallout 3 lets you drink from the toilet and snack on human flesh. You can't beat that kind of freedom.

This article is distorted, wishful thinking. View

Blame the writer, not the game
No problems with my game. Co-op worked great, the game looks fantastic, and I can't wait to go home and play more. Definately one of the best games yet released for the system.

This article seems like an attempt to get negative attention for the website... nothing more. In other words, just like every other article on N4G. View

My girlfriend cried when she beat Bioshock with the good ending because she was so touched. While I've never 'cried' at a character's death, I havn't cried in a movie either since I was a small child. I'm not trying to say I'm 'hard', I'm saying the two mediums (film/games) have the same emotional impact on me. View

This article hits rock bottom, and then just moves side to side
Why is it 'stealing' if the game developers make more money, which they can then put into development of their next game? Sorry pal, but exclusivity is a waning trend on all platforms, and that's a great thing for gamers on a budget and developers alike. I don't know why you'd take the hardware manufacturer's side... what, are you a shareholder?

Putting 'Stealing' in the title sure was a great way for you to get some cheap hits for your site, though. And don't be coy... you know damn well flamebait is the only content that gets anybody's attention at this so-called 'news' site. View

Thanks
I really appreciate your kind words. I thought about this essay in the back of my mind for over a year, but didn't write anything about it because, frankly, I feel bad for Ebert, who is currently battling mouth cancer. Still, his words kept popping up in my mind, and I felt that if I could breach the subject with a respectful tone, it would be OK. I doubt Ebert will ever read it, though, so no harm done.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words. I thought people would say, "Old news", and move on. Turns out, since this isn't flame bait, it will probably tank here due to the bias N4G has for powder keg, console war type of issues. View

I'm not allowed to talk about Home, but...
I will say in a more general sense that until more PSN users utilize the voice chat feature, I am not interested in socializing on the PS3. Voice communication is important to me, and if the rest of PSN is any indication, I expect a lot of crowded, lonely lobbies when Home arrives. Plus, if they take out the ability to share video with your cohorts, the 360's Fall Update is going to have a stronger service from a social perspective. View

The Funniest Game I've Ever Played
The Simpsons Game would have been great if they had spent as much time on the gameplay as they did on the writing. So the best overall combination of comedy AND gameplay, at least to me, has got to be Portal. There's just something funny about evil robots with cold, unfeeling voices. This worked great for KOTOR as well. View

Far Cry's port sucked
Remember Instincts? It was piss-poor. Expect the same shoddy level of fidelity when Crysis makes the inevitable voyage to consoles.

There's no way around it... Crysis, and Crytech games in general, are PC exclusives that release half-assed versions on other platforms which bear little similarity to their PC roots. View

dirty bomb
Going back a bit further, the PS3 was being outsold for over a year. It dropped its price to remain competetive. Now it's a ahead of the 360. So when the 360 drops it's price to follow suit, it's just more of the same, and no more indicitive of failure than any of the other price drops that have occured in the history of console sales.

And might I add that the 360 didn't have to trim any features to allow for its reduced price.

Bottom line: Price drops = more gamers. And that's a good thing, regardless of which console you might prefer. View

That's what makes it such an egregious inclusion in a game that is otherwise exceedingly scientific. View

The article was a mild condemnation of SPORE for implying that morality requires religion... not a condemnation of religion itself. Also it's amusing how the only way to defeat another culture without amassing a giant army of loyalists is to take the middle path and be an omnivore who kills some tribes while sparing others. But the religious and violent solutions are practically identical from one another in that they both involve armies of sorts. It seems that in order to beat the Civ phase with minimal bloodshed, you have to kill a few tribes in the earlier, tribal stage of the game. View

Blessed are the geeks
I take it you're a turbo-Christian. How about some of that forgiveness I've been hearing so much about? View

I pray that...
I sure hope nobody approved this article believing that any atheists will actually join the flock as a result of playing SPORE. The title was comically misleading... you know, like 'A Modest Proposal'. View

turns out its a love letter to the devs' family... you have to spell it out on a phone to reveal the message.

Sure it's already been said, but...
with the world in as much peril as it is now, if you vote solely based on the candidate's positions on video-games, you're part of the problem. We've got bigger fish to fry... much bigger. View

The force was pretty damn leashed
I don't care how powerful you can force push... I just wanted to cut off some stormtrooper heads, but the descision to make the game T for Teen means I'll have to wait for a PC version... and a mod. :( View

I usually frown upon commenting without reading the article, but...
YES I DO! Gearbox is an amazing developer, and I couldn't be happier that they are taking over the Chief's escapades. View

Did you know 'hypocrite' is Greek for 'actor'?
Something tells me the best place to cast dispersions about the nerdery of others isn't a video game news forum.

Is your name in reference to 'The Matrix'? Because that's not nerdy at all. View

I guess I don't always agree with the big review sites/mags.
I often don't see eye to eye with the big boys. Some of my favorite 360 games so far have been Tenchu Z, Perfect Dark Zero, and Shadowrun.

Now excuse me while I slather my corpulant flesh with flame-retardant jelly. View

Me neither...
...till I tried the Advanced controls. Tell me, did you try the Devil May Cry stuff? And if that didn't trick your trigger, you gotta admit the skill tree and abilities stuff was pretty deep and variable. I liked the demo 100 times more after I mastered the controls... that was the point of the article, really. I think a lot of people dismissed the demo because, like me, they mistook it for a mindless button masher initially. View
