Flaming is uncalled for
@16.2 jomneezie

I believe this is supposed to be a forum for intelligent discussion of a game we all have some interest in and most of us have been waiting for since finishing Halo 2. Snide comments and implying someone is falsifying statements is rather immature and fanboyish.

If you disagree with what the article has to say or what I have to say, then give us a legitimate reason why, rather than flaming people presenting a valid opinion.

Halo 3 is a great game especially in multi-player co-op and PvP. However with few opportunities to play co-op it's unconscionable to review that part of the game. View

Yes It's a quickie
First of all because they're not a huge site and didn't agree with IGN or Game Spy their opinion isn't valid?

My husband is a reviewer. He finished the game in six hours, only because he had a spot of trouble near the end. I would say their summary of the single storyline is pretty accurate.

The reason nobody is submitting a review of Halo 3 as a multi-player shooter is because online play isn't running yet. Expect more positive reviews after Tuesday when they have a chance to take a look at Halo 3's strong points. Until then, don't knock them for giving an honest opinion. View

Remember this is an Impression rather than a hands on Review
Don't let this impression discourage you. It is made clear that this is not a review since it wasn't possible for journalists to get hands on time with the game. Also journalists can only report on what they personally experience so it would have been wrong for him to present the piece as a review which he didn't.

I love RPGs. When you play them the ratio of dialog to action is usually only 1:3 even in the talkiest game unless the sample dialog comes from the beginning of the game.

I think the presentation didn't do a good job of representing what gameplay would be like. It seems the demo should have had more like 7 minutes of talk and 13 minutes of action in a 20 minute span to show off all the game has to offer. The developers were probably so enamored of the innovative dialog system that they demoed the action as an afterthought in this instance.

Please reserve your judgment on Mass Effect until there is an actual hands on review. View

Language barriers
I tried to find a translation for your comment. The nearest I could come up with was Norske/Norwegian It's too bad because I'd like to understand your opinion. View

I'm glad this got approved
Don't any of you have kids? I have and you should see the schlock they put out for young girls. This actually sounds like a game that my girls might enjoy without having their brains leak out their ears.
It appears as though Nickelodeon is actually attempting to deliver an entertaining experience with some value. I'm really sick of all the Brats and Barbie stuff out there. It will be nice to have an alternative. View

Unsubstantiated Rumors
This story is completely unfounded rumor based on props from a live action Halo commercial shot a year ago. Don't believe everything you read, even from XF, and make sure legitimate sources are sited such as direct link to Bungie confirmation. View

I hadn't Considered That Angle
You bring up a very good point. I would personally like to know what guarantees consumers have that they won't be made to periodically repurchase games under these types of situations. View

PC has it's place, but can't replace consoles.
I have four PCs and a laptop as well as all the latest consoles. I don't think the PC is close at this time to replacing consoles. Just look at the minimum specs for Stranglehold for the PC.

Windows XP SP2 / VISTA (Games for Windows compliant)
Dual Core Processor
2 Gigs of Ram
Nvidia 7800 or higher / ATI x1300 or higher
Disk space: 15 gigs

I could buy another Xbox 360 or Wii for what it would cost to upgrade one of my PCs to run it. I'll be buying it for PS3 or Xbox 360. View

10/10 May be stretching but...
I'm not sure if I buy a 10/10, but everything I've seen of this game looks fantastic. The characters are beautifully done and the combat moves... they aren't the same tired moves repeated over and over like some games I've seen. I was really impressed to see the video that showed the evolution of the game from the beginning concepts to its current state.

The only thing that bugs me so far about Heavenly Sword (and I guess it's pretty trivial) is the hair. It looks like ribbons or something. I can't help but think Final Fantasy. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on this game. I'll have to reserve judgment until then. View

Pretty Good for the Inaugural Podcast
First off I must admit a strong bias because I know one of the guys that does this podcast, but don't hold that against me.
I've listened to the podcast and believe that there is a future for it. Shawn and Ron have a good report, and conversation flows easily between them. Sound quality could be a little better on Shawn's end and I really think the name File and Forget is a poor choice. Still I believe this will be a good edition to Shawn Sines' original podcast Game On! View

PS3 is appropriately priced, but still too expensive.
With all its capabilities as a game machine and as a Blue-ray player, I feel the price point for the PS3 is appropriate. It's just not affordable for most gamers. Don't forget that once the 60g machines sell out, they are gone and the regular $600 price is back, unless Pachter is right and Sony drops the price to coincide with the release of GTA IV next year.
