Does anyone even pay attention that Wii have outsold the PS3 by 3-to-1 in America? That's atop of the 4-to-1 in Japan.

And Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Wii Fit haven't even come out in America yet. Imagine when they do... holy crap.

American women, especially, always go crazy over nifty weight loss products. When Wii Fit comes out, Wii sales will trample everything else... including GTA IV and MGS4. View

This is embarrassing
Peter Moore left Microsoft and joined EA is not embarrassing, because Microsoft and EA are not direct competitors.

Phil Harrison left Sony and ioined Infogramers is not embarrasing, because Sony and Infogramers are not direct competitors.

Microsoft and Nintendo are direct competitor in the console arena. So basically a top guy in Microsoft just jumped over to a competitor. View

Covenant: "... and really almost nothing on the Wii."
The currently highest rated JRPG of this generation is on the Wii: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Fire Emblem and Dragon Quest Sword are also JRPGs. View

I don't know what JRPG is out right now
I don't know if the PS3 has any JRPG right now. Many JRPGs never make to the West, so I wouldn't discount that PS3 might have some JRPGs we haven't heard of.

I don't really care about JRPGs anyway. It's a genre that I don't like, and I certainly won't buy a console just to play the genre that I don't like (i.e., Final Fantasy XIII). I've tried playing various incarnations of Final Fantasy -- and they have never retained my attention nor interest for too long. Just don't like JRPGs in general.

On the other hand, I pay attention to Western RPGs. And I know FOR A FACT that the PS3 has ZERO exclusive Western RPGs right now or in the future. If you think I'm wrong, then name me ONE exclusive Western RPGs that are on the PS3 but not Xbox 360 -- either right now or in production.

But you can't -- so you disagree but you can't back it up.

C'mon, name just ONE. ONE exclusive Western RPG on the PS3 -- now or in the future. Just name ONE. View

Only applies to Western RPGs
PS3 still has lotsa Japanese RPGs. Prolly still more than what Xbox 360 has.

On the other hand, PS3 has absolutely no exclusive *Western* RPG. Nothing. Nada. Nothing currently nor in the pipeline. I'm sure all the Sony fanboys would like to disagree - but can they name one EXCLUSIVE Western RPGs on the PS3 (or the entire PlayStation family for that matter)? Western RPG is a genre that PS3 has completely overlooked and/or ignored.

Western RPG is a big gap and weakness in what the PS3 can offer -- and I know for a fact that many gamers stay away from the PS3 simply because the system lacks the one genre that cater to certain segment of hardcore gamers who specialize in playing Western RPGs.

Xbox 360 has exclusive Western RPG studios like BioWare and Lionhead, as well as exclusive Western RPG titles/franchises like Too Human and KOTOR. That's a problem for the PS3, more or less. View

Interesting.
Unlike Toshiba and Microsoft that do not control any Hollywood studios, Steve Jobs owns controlling shares in Disney.

Apple fanboys versus Sony fanboys. Both side are fanatical.

This is going to be interesting. View

Whether digital download will become a reality in the near future comes down to how much Hollywood supports it. If Hollywood studios think of digital download in the same category as video-on-demand, which really gets low-priority treatment and schedule, then digital download will not happen anytime soon.

Hollywood decided that HD DVD should die, and Hollywood will decide when digital download will be accepted. Because Hollywood owns the content. If Hollywood puts the content on digital download later than all other channels, then they have already decided they're not too interested in promoting digital downloads for financial reasons.

Let's face it: digital download is a threat to their other more important revenue streams (or "windows", as they call it. US theatrical run is the "first window", foreign run is the "second windows", DVD and rental are the "second window", cable is the "third windows", so on and so forth. Hollywood has about seven or eight windows, and digital download is pretty low on the list of windows.) View

It seems more like because it's Sony you guys are mindlessly supporting it.

Not the other way round.

$40 for 5 hour is just not a good value -- given that a game isn't as entertaining as a movie for the same 2-3 hours spent on playing/watching.

For that kind of money, I'd rather spend it on something that offers a better experience. It's just a much better experience. For example, go watch Spiderman-2 instead if you haven't already -- it's better value and better entertainment for 2-3 hours.

(Or just pick any current movie that has a B- rating or above at Yahoo! movie, and there's a lot of them -- they all provide much better entertainment than games for 2-3 hours.) View

Not saying the game is not good, but even the greatest game should not cost $40 for 5 hour of entertainment
How much is a PSP game? $40 on Amazon? So God of War: Chains of Olympics is asking for $40 for 5 hours of entertainment.

A good 2-3 hour movie -- which I generally find to be a much more enjoyable experience than any game for the comparable time spent -- costs only $10.

Put two good movies together, which are about 5-6 hours, cost only $20.

This little short game on a tiny screen is asking for twice as much.

Let's just be rational here. That's asking $40 for a 5-hour entertainment. No great game has yet to deliver the type of enjoyable experience a good movie can give me for the same 2-3 hours (e.g., The Lord of the Rings or The Terminator movies.) Even a moderately good movie delivers a better 2-hour experience than the best of games.

Of course, the true value of gaming is that it's cheap. You pay $40-$60, and you get 20, 30, 40 and more hours of entertainment out of it -- from multiplayer if the single-player isn't long enough.

Which means God of War: Chains of Olympic, which offers only 5 hour of entertainment that's not going to be as good as a movie, is a ripoff at that price. View

Portal is ONE game in a huge package. You don't pay for Portal alone.

How much is the PSP game? $40 on Amazon?

$40 for 5 hours?

You know, a good 2-3 hour movie -- which I generally find to be a more enjoyable, entertaining experience than a game for the comparable time -- only costs $10.

Two good movies, which is about 5-6 hours, cost only $40.

That short little game on a tiny screen is asking for twice as much.

As a rational person would know $40 for a 5-hour game -- and no game can deliver an entertainment as enjoyable as a good movie for the same 2-3 hours -- is a ripoff. View

Call of Duty has MULTIPLAYER. You get back your money worth on the multiplayer.

Does this 5-hour $40 game have multiplayer?

You know, if you go watch two movies (= 5 hours), you'll spend only half as much. View

That's very unethical - bordering on being illegal (which it prolly is)
That's why EA took the issue to the public, because Take-Two executives were withholding the information from its shareholders -- while secretly using the information to change the company pay and bonus structure to take advantage of the impending takeover. View

Didn't he say that he's pissed at Sony Japan just last week over social gaming?

http://www.gamesindustry.bi...

It's a Japanese company -- employees don't criticize their company or boss in public or the press.

Seems like he spoke out of his place, and so he suffered the consequence. View
