This is a patch to add official kits and names - things which Konami cannot include in the game due to licensing issues. This isn't a patch to improve gameplay, rather just appearance.

These are all over the internet for the PS3 version and I've even had one on my game for at least 3 weeks now. View

Which I guess you can sort of say is credit to Microsoft. Can you imagine if there was another product out there which had such a high failure rate - like a mobile phone or a tv - no one would go near the thing! View

I see no Haze on that list. I still have hope it's coming out in the UK in January as quite a few retailers here have it as a January release date still.

Also, DMC4 is an early February release over here.

I see January as more of a month where you buy games you missed earlier in the year on Sale though, so I'm not bothered by the lack of 'good' games coming out. View

I agree with that statement except for the "overhyped games". I think you'll find that is what Sony's problem is - they don't hype their games enough. If you want to see an overhyped game then you only really need to look at Halo 3 - it even managed to appear on normal news!! View

Why does Assassin's Creed deserve to be a best seller? I agree with COD4, but AC?? I personally can think of better games which deserve to be in AC's position. View

What is Turok doing on that list? lol Out of the entire of 2008, there are much better games coming out than Turok on the PS3 lol

Killzone?
GT5?
Haze? View

Do you play games or just check review scores to determine if they're any good or not?

I personally thought Heavenly Sword was one of the best games I've played on my PS3 and Warhawk is another brilliant game in my eyes that has given me hours of fun. I haven't played Lair to give a comment on, but you're probably right there.

I don't need to look at review scores and think to myself "I'm playing a game with an average rating over 90%, so I'm playing a AAA game, so I'm going to enjoy it". No. I play a game and make my own judgement on whether I enjoy it or not. View

***EDIT***
I made a bit of a mistake before with the figures and combined weekly with some monthly figures which doesn't really work. So below are the weekly numbers for the week ending 23rd December from all regions:

Europe/Other:
Wii - 448,127
PS3 - 338,006
360 - 218,636

Japan:
Wii - 268,954
PS3 - 55,119
360 - 8,580

America:
Wii - 740,791
360 - 367,304
PS3 - 226,263

Total:
Wii - 1,457,872
PS3 - 619,388
360 - 594,520

So in the Christmas week (which this article should be talking about) the Wii came in a more than convincing first with over double the sales of anything else, the PS3 in a distant second and the 360 in a very close third.

(Also, what is with all the disagree's I've been getting for just copying and pasting figures from VGC? Also, someone has even managed to add me to their ignore list - there is some hate going around in this news post!) View

Well I just checked myself from VGC. See below for the breakdown of region and overall, for those who are interested.

Europe/Other:
Wii - 448,127
PS3 - 338,006
360 - 218,636

Japan:
Wii - 552,170
PS3 - 153,469
360 - 26,057

America:
Wii - 1,176,232
360 - 976,139
PS3 - 588,982

Total:
Wii - 2,176,529
360 - 1,220,832
PS3 - 1,080,457

So the Wii well and truely wins with the 360 in a distant second and the PS3 not too far behind the 360 in third. Overall though, I believe the consumers won Christmas with three great and different consoles on offer for each type of person. View

Are these figures just for North America? If so, does anyone know what the figures are for all of the world? I'd rather know the overall picture than just one country - surely that would indicate who actually won Christmas?

EDIT: Woah, what's the disagree's for? I can only presume that whoever pressed it wouldn't rather know the overall picture? View

Your hard drive being displayed as only 232gb is perfectly normal. Read more here:

Hope this helps and makes you feel better (or at least know there isn't a problem) :) View

You've got to respect Sony for adding this feature to the PS3. It was one of the small things which swayed me to buy a PS3. They could have followed a competitor and do only branded over-priced hard drive upgrades, but they didn't.

In comparison, a 120gb hard drive for the competitor here in the UK is £110, or a generic 120gb hard drive for the PS3 is £47. Need I say more? View

The problem is I don't know of anything that is £20-30 which gives you the ability to receive and record freeview. Not to mention the other functions such as PSP connectivity to enable you to watch live tv anywhere or watch pre-recorded shows anywhere.

Not to mention most £20-30 freeview receivers are pretty cheap and you get what you pay for in terms of quality and you also have to have another box set under your tv. View

To all the American's on this site; I wouldn't start trying to figure out the price it's going to be for you lot by doubling the UK price. I know common sense says that the exchange rate would indicate that, but we're talking about the UK here and we always get shafted by every company. I'd love it if they actually used the exchange rate to figure out our prices but unfortunately they have a whole lot more taxes to pay over here.

If/when it comes out in North America, I'd expect it to be alot less than what it retails for over here. Seeing as how it'll probably be a good year until it comes out the production cost will have been reduced so I wouldn't be surprised if it'd be around the $99 mark by then.

Looking on http://www.freeview.co.uk/p... it would seem that the £99 price mark would still be pretty competitive when compared to other freeview recorders and I for one would rather have less boxes under my TV and the ability to do everything with my PS3 appeals to me. Also the ability to watch tv anywhere via your PSP must surely sway your decision slightly.... View

"Ghetto" is certainly the best way to describe that setup lol I certainly wouldn't have my PS3 like that either. If you need bigger than 250gb, then just use an external hard drive via usb. This is really only necessary if you're going to install linux and need a huge hard drive.

I don't think Sony will produce any PlayStation branded hard drives, as if they had plans for this they'd be in the PS3 from the start. Since they chose Seagate, I can't see them competing in that market. View

I've seen a similar deal to this at John Lewis ( http://www.johnlewis.com/Te... ) but it's only the 40GB version that you get. This is in the UK btw. You'd think John Lewis would be an expensive place to shop, but they do price match any highstreet price and also include a 5 year warranty View

I'm not too sure it's as drastic as 'do or die'. Next year is definitely looking to be an exciting year in terms of games and I for one am worried at how I'm going to be able to afford all of them!! View

It seems so far away! I'd rather wait than to have a half finished game and then wait for patches to fix it though. Take your time and make a game that we can all enjoy! View
