A few interesting points:
"4) A sturdy piece of hardware is very important in some European countries. This and many other things are the reason why Microsoft has a hard time here."
"Although this article points out the popularity of PC gaming in Europe, it fails to note that it is one of the reasons that the 360 is under-performing in comparison to the PS3.
To a certain extent the 360 is still regarded as a hobbled PC in a box (this was even more true of the original xbox) and most of its "console exclusives" are (or soon will be) available on the PC in superior versions"
Also some thoughts on the PS3 price point over here when compared to the rest of the world, as we pay the most. I think if they charged the same amount all over the world and reduced the price in Europe to match the rest of the world then they'd see much more sales. You are starting to see quite a few deals involving PS3's though, such as get a free PS3 with a mobile phone contract, or for buying AOL broadband, or a HD TV so you can get a PS3 easier over here by doing one of these.
