Yeah, really looking forward to this. Being a PS3 owner I've only played PES on the PS2 and the online facility is slightly lacking. I can't wait to play PES2008 on the PS3 with proper online functionality! View

I think you are I are saying the same thing and agreeing on the same thing. I was replying to the post above mine who was implying that since the cost of the parts is $639.62 then that proves that Sony aren't making the consoles at a loss of $200 like some people have been saying. I was trying to point out that the cost of parts isn't the final cost of a console and gave examples of other costs.

To answer the original question...
I don't think Sony will do anything - yet. It's only £30. It's not going to make the Xbox 360 start flying off the shelves. One concern Sony might have, though, is that the Elite at £299.99 with 120GB and HDMI included will look better than the PS3 to the average shopper that doesn't know anything.

I think we all believe Sony will drop the price lower to the holiday season. I could see that price being around £329.99. View

This article only shows the cost of parts. It was also pointed out it doesn't include the emotion chip. It also doesn't include labour, packaging, advertising, machinery, factories, etc....

When you add all that up, I wouldn't be surprised if they're making them at a loss and the PS2 sales is covering losses. But mind you, I'm sure they get all those parts much cheaper due to ordering large quantities. View

Couldn't agree more. I downloaded it (since it's free!) to give it a go and I wish I spent my time doing something else. Mind you, I've never really liked the stop-start feel of "American Football" games anyway. Too much loading and selecting plays rather than actually playing. View

I didn't realise Bioshock was a shooter? I thought it was more of a role-playing/adventure game - not your standard FPS.

Oh well.

If anything, this article shows you how many 'shooters' there are on the market and how developers need to show some more variety!! They list 10 different games and that's probably not even half of them! View

Wow, you lot are lucky. Us Europeans got a TERRIBLE update compared to yours. We only got an Armed Core Demo and the Heavenly Sword stuff. They don't exactly discourage people for having multiple accounts when they do this....

EDIT: reaferfore20, they might as well just have one PSN store for the same speaking countries. I'm lucky in a sense as my wife is American and so I don't have to make up any details to access your store. But as you say, more often than not people have multiple stores so Sony might as well just have one for everyone. View

It's true R:FOM and Motorstorm have a RRP of £39.99, but when they first came out they were selling for that price online as well as on highstreet stores. They then later dropped to a lower price of £29.99 or £32.99 (depending where you go). These very anticipated games are STARTING at £32.99.

Surely a tactical move by Sony. View

I agree, games with RRP of £50 do sell for £40 on the net (but not on the highstreet) - but these exclusive games have a RRP of £40 and are selling for £33. That's cheaper than all the other games. View

You might as well pre-order with whoever now. What companies usually do is with pre-orders is you're guaranteed the price at the point you buy, so if they price goes up you still get it at the lower price. On top of that, if the price goes down even more, you get it at the cheaper price.

Win win situation :) View

Perhaps these shouldn't be REVIEWS - but PREVIEWS and include that they weren't testing FINAL code and that the issues raised in their PREVIEWS are being promised to be addressed by the company making the game.

How can you review something which isn't finished? That just isn't fair really, is it? View
