It's an improvement over what it was, but here in Canada at least, most, not all, but most of the games are priced higher then they are at retail (well, futureshop at least), by around 5-20 bucks depending on the game (Fallout 3, for instance, is only 35 bucks at futureshop, but it is $60 online. That's the biggest one, the rest have less of a descrepency in pricing, but still around 10 dollars more. Why???). It leaves me very little insentive to buy anything off of the service at this point.

Hopefully, we start seeing more games arriving on the service, and at fair prices (Microsoft is notorious for their odd pricing schemes, they can be all over the map). Get some indie titles on here, some ports (or upgraded ports) of XBLA titles, some remakes of older PC games, and some more original content, and I think the service will have a chance. And the UI needs a lot of work, still no universal in-game/out of game client yet. View

Yeah, this is definitely not suprising. The fact that it is a Steam game (already mentioned), and lacks the refinements and ammenities expected out of a PC game is a likely indicator of the sales. I'm sure lots of people bought the PC version, but I won't until they fix the situation. View

Took advantage of that deal a couple days ago, really sweet! And it's mix and match! Got 2 PC games and a Wii game. Damn good deal. View

Nice specs, and no DRM, great. 15 gigs of space though. Either this game is going to be a two disc game on the 360, or Bioware is giving us PC gamers some nice, higher resolution textures. Woot woot.

Hopefully, more developers and publishers follow this route. DRM=useless! View

5970X2? Is ATI changing its naming scheme? No matter what the name really is, I still want one. But 13.5" long! Wow, that won't even fit in a lot of full size ATX cases, never mind mid towers. View

Blu Ray is not necessary. We just need cheaper hard drives so we can install our games. Sell cheap HDD, sell games online, sell retail games with an (or a few) install disk(s), and away we go. You install the game once and forget about it. An external cradle addon that would allow you to insert your own 2.5" HDD of your choice would be excellent, just like the PS3. Microsoft won't allow it though, and will definitely loose out on a money making opportunity this way. Alas, it's not always the smartest people at the top making the decisions, just the ones who have kissed to most butt.

Hell, this could even work in better ways. Imagine a game like Guitar Hero or Rock Band, where you install the game to the hard drive, and when the next one comes out (with guitar hero, that seems every couple of months), the new game stacks on top of the other game. So, you get a new campaign mode, and your QuickPlay mode gains a new song list, without the need to relicense all the tracks for another game. Oh, I wish companies where smarter. Again, stupid people at the top making these decisions. View

The no matching is just an attempt at curving pirating. It's really obvious. They are trying to hide that fact, but that is the sad truth of the matter. View

Uwe Boll should never be allowed to make any more video game based movies. The only "good" one I liked (and by good I mean it was crap but I somehow enjoyed it) was Postal. It was genuinely funny movie. Not all of it, but enough to keep me entertained. His other movies, bleh.

I hope in the future we can see more video game adaptations turn out better then these. The original Tomb Raider and FFVIIAC where good. The first MK movie was okayish. Hopefully the upcoming Gears of War and Dead Space movies turn out decent. Bioshock and Army of Two are also out there. I hope that these receive a decent job done to them. They can do good comic book movies now, video game adaptations should receive the same treatment. View

Wow, that looks huge. Would definately love to get one. I've always leaned more towards ATI then Nvidia (though I will always get what is best in terms of price, performance and options). I hear the 5800 series (and all future 5000 series cards for that matter) will be able to send out lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. That is a huge feature in my opinion, as it cuts out the need for a currently expensive add in card. Though a user may still want one for gaming purposes and higher quality analogue sound.

I'll still be holding onto the old 4870X2 for now, it still plays all my games just fine and dandy. View

Looks spiffy, but I wish they would release a successor to the G7, that has got to be by far my favorite mouse made thus far. Super responsive wireless control, and (only...) 2000 DPI! Headshot!!! View

I'm sure we'll be able to mod in a 250 gig drive ourselves soon. This is what I've been waiting for. Now MS will offer a larger size, even if it is restricted to being purchased with a new system ATM, the systems should be updated to accept a new size. Go buy cheap HDD online, hack in, away you go. Not rocket science at this point.

Really though, MS should just go and offer an aftermarket HDD cradle so we can put whatever size we want in. That way, they can make money off digital downloads. Personally, I will not buy any because of A)lack of HDD space on mine, B) new HDD far too overpriced and C) DLC and DL games overpriced (most of the time anyway). Let me worry about the HDD and I'll buy the games. View

That looked pretty sweet. I hope Call of Pripyat turns out better than Clear Sky. Clear Sky was okay at the start, but the second half of the game wasn't all that great, especially the "end boss", if you want to call it that (he just tried hiding in a coner by some barrels on the ground, I just kept sniping him from afar with no retribution to myself, boo). I really liked the weapon upgrading, but faction wars could have been done better (it's just easier to stay with the Stalker Faction than try to fight Freedom or Duty. The bandits are push overs). Graphics were always pretty good though, and so was the art direction, I really liked that.

I'm really looking forward to this game. If it comes out the gate without a pile of bugs like the last two games, and fixes their faults, we could end up with a class A shooter this fall.

And please, no more bandages and bleeding out... So annoying. View

It would probably be cheaper and more cost effective to use a PC part, like a 4870/4890 or one of the GeForce 2xx series to do that. More powerful and can give you better bang for the buck. Sure, you can do it, but I wouldn't be using a standard 360 to do that. You know, the GPU is the main cause of RROD in a 360... I wouldn't want to be cramming these calculations for a few hours (days, weeks whatever) and have it break down on me. If you wanted to go to the trouble of using the GPU from a 360, you need to give it adequate cooling. Cheaper to use more readily available, more powerful parts. View

Ya, true. There where only a couple available. Heck, Halo 2 didn't even use it (not that it really needed it mind you) and that was supposed to show off what Vista could do. Tray and play, whoop dee doo. Even now, games are being released without DX10 support, and it's been out for how long?

Also, Wikipedia apparently states that Battlefield Bad Company 2, Crysis 2, F1 2010 and Grid 2 will also be using DirectX 11. I'm sure if games warrant it, we will be seeing some older games being patched to take advantage of the new features, at least some of the more popular ones. View

I'm still not ready to trade in the ol' 4870X2 just yet. ATI's new card is sounding pretty impressive. It's too bad their older cards can't just go DirectX 11, considering they've included many of the necessary features in their past 3 generations of cards (like the tesselator).

I hope they do a decent job with the next Stalker game. The first one was alright, but the second stalker fell apart half way through the game. It's like they just gave up half way through. And the need to put bandages on all the time to stop bleeding, that was annoying. Like there are no bandages in a medkit. Come on. View

The nice thing about this case is it can be intergrated into a hometheatre rackmount for that professional look, but if you check out the product page, every single feature you can think of for this thing costs big bucks. Want some memory card slots cut for you? That will be twenty bucks. WTF? Want some slots cut for the USB ports? 15 bones will do it. But 699 for the standard case, give me a break. I'm surprised some other company (besides Lian-Li) hasn't come along and made a decent, yet affordable case yet. Not worth it anyway though.

Wow is all I have to say. The 360 wouldn't be as loud as it is if it had a better DVD drive and/or better fans. They're not all loud. Definately not a great design cooling wise, I have to admit. Surprised they haven't done anything more radical. View

If Microsoft really wants to compete, they have to sell the 360s for less than the PS3, not at the same price. Don't scrap the Pro! They should keep the Pro, and the Elite. Scrap the Arcade model. Price has to stay under the PS3 by a wide margin. View

My first one died, my second one died as well, so I water cooled that bad boy and she's been good ever since, did that last summer. It was expensive, but I had some extra parts lying around. Anyway, she works good now. But to have to go through that with a console just to get it to work...

I want to know, does the newest one, the Jasper, still use those X-Clamps to secure the heat sinks? Replace those with some screws and you should be fine. View

That is one hell of a decent list, glad I've got myself a decent PC. And quite a few of those titles are Games for Windows Live ready. I don't really care too much about the achievements, but it's nice to have everything linked up with my Xbox account. Connecting PC to TV through HDMI, grabbing a wireless controller and playing some maxed out games is awesome, all from the couch.

Though I will probably hold off on the new Stalker. GSC has a bad habit of releasing those games with a ton of bugs. View
