Good list...
I actually thank MS for Vista, it finally made me go Linux exclusive and leave winos behind. Never looked back.

And Zune is a perfectly fine mp3 player, and UMD is still alive, so they don't belong on this list even if they weren't great successes... View

SC: C is shaping up very nicely. Good graphics and more action oriented open ended gameplay is cool. The mission briefing and info projected on the environment and walls seems to work well too... View

It's too factual?
It might be to factual and level headed to incite the mighty fanboy flames, I guess.

The conclusion is that we won't know for sure how "real" the trailer is until the beta launches. On the other hand the article also points out that the trailer might not represent what we'll see in game.

"What we're seeing here is indeed in-game assets running in the new engine, it's just that we have no real idea how this will translate to actual run-time performance. More aliasing is an obvious given, but it's unclear what other tweakables within the engine Bungie ramped up in order to produce the best-looking trailer."

But the Digital Foundry keep to the technical facts and fanboys like easy flamebait articles much better... View

They are only publishing it...
So on the technical side you'll have to complain to iD software if it's a freezing monster. LOL EA was connected to publsih before, so Bethesda might be a better option? EA has a spotty record so we might be better off.

Seriously it'll be interesting to see how iD handles console gaming and it's the biggest release from then in some time... View

Many games claim to run at 60 fps and fall short, so it's great to have a frame rate analysis that shows this game delivers the goods. Still only a demo but it bodes well for the technical side of this game though... View

More realisitc and subtle look in this trailer, very atmospheric.

Still think the facial animations are a bit "cartoony", like Halo 3. Voice work seems much better though... View

They must really have loved Batman Arkham Asylum then...
But I knew about Rocksteady from before, they made Urban Chaos, I loved that game on PS2.

Ultra brutal FPS game where you were an elite cop fighting gangs taking over the city. Many have probably played it and didn't realize it was the same dev...

This is from the start of the game...
So it's hardly fair to judge the whole game by it's "tutorial" levels. The atmosphere and graphics are great.

Do think there will be some sort of story twist though. Alan Wake might be asleep or crazy? View

I used my 60gig to play GoW2...
That's the only PS2 game I really have played on my PS3. But I still have my PS2 and many PS2 games so I could play them anyway if I wanted.

It certainly is interesting that Sony took away PS2 BC. It was for cost, they didn't include the necessary chip in the models after the 60 gigs. But there has been many rumours about them working on an emulator that would bring BC to all models.

But why are they taking so long? Maybe to not end the PS2's life early, since it's still an viable option for some. So full BC may come at a later date... View

I can't and won't comment on the demo...
I'm more worried about the deluge of 3rd person action games coming after new year. I love these kind of games and there has been few good ones this year. Wolverine and NGs2 are the best I have played this year.

But next year we have Darksiders, Bayonetta, Dante's Inferno GoW3 and Castlevania to name the largest. And most of these come out in january, most likely to beat GoW3. It's the most established and successful ip of the lot, so it's not surprising.

But Darksiders, Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno will probably only cannibalize each other sales during this short period. Darksiders will probably be the biggest looser, depending on the reviews.

I will play all these games, but since they come out at almost the same time some will be purchased later, possibly after a price reduction. View

Not quite rigth...
You can't play PS2 games on PS3 slim, but you can play PSone games via PSN. So there is some backwards compatibility.

And hopefully there will be an official emulator available later... View

It's an action game...
I'm from the old school of gaming, so I can be happy if a game only has cool graphics and lots of intense action. I gather some don't like the looks of this game and thinks it's a simple action game, but that's what I like about it.

Some are very vocal about their dislike of this game and I just wonder why.

Not that I don't like games with stories too, but this game is a button mashing action fest. And there is a little bit of story in there too if you look hard according to some reviews... View
