Initial D heading to Blu-ray in 2008

Hong Kong distributor Tai Seng Entertainment announced today that it would be bringing the Andrew Lau film Initial D exclusively to Sony’s Blu-ray format on January 22, 2008.

Initial specs have yet to be revealed, although we can confirm that it will run in full 1080p resolution.

Based on the manga of the same name, Initial D centres on a young man named Takumi Fujiwara; a tofu delivery driver who is soon recognised for his highly accomplished skill at navigating the hairpin curves of Mt. Akina. Staring Jay Chou and Anthony Wong, the film chronicles Fujiwara’s journey from a simple-minded delivery boy into hardened, fearless racer. here is the link:
