Dualshock 3 hitting North America in early 2008

Apparently the new Dualshock 3 controller will become available to purchase in the U.S. some time in early 2008.
According to Engadget, the PlayStation 3 firmware 2.01 update released on November 20 contained a hidden message under the asterisked notation for "Vibration Function", stating, "[Dualshock 3 will be] Available for purchase in early 2008."
The new controller allows for both SIXAXIS functionality as well as adding enhanced vibration ability.
