DJ said "Bioware was pretty vocal about having problems fitting Mass Effect onto one DVD."

Genki's sources pretty much said that BioWare had *thought* that they would have problem fitting the contents onto one disc... but it turned out that they could fit everything onto one disc without problem.

You saw the first half because that's all you wanted to see, and that's the half that you could use to spin. And you deliberately ignore and misinterpret the second half that proves you wrong.

P.S. The burden of proof is on DJ, because he's the one who made the claim that "Bioware was pretty vocal about having problems fitting Mass Effect onto one DVD." (which is still false, by the way.) If he made that claim for BioWare, then he better showed the proof. That's how it works: the burden of proof is on him, not on anyone else. Other people should not have to look for proof on someone else's behalf when he makes a ridiculous claim. View

If Blu-ray had any hope of ever winning this HD format war, it has now been completely dashed by two breaking news that will hit the mainstream media early next week:

1. China adopts HD DVD as the national HD standard!

2. new and improved 51-gig HD DVD approved for mass production: HD DVD is now bigger than better than Blu-ray!

Imagine how the mass consumers will see these two news, so soon after they've just read about Paramount/Dreamworks has jump ship and abandoned Blu-ray in favor of HD DVD. This format war is more about public perception more than anything. View

It's not important for Microsoft to win the HD war - but Microsoft has a lot of money to burn and throw at HD DVD if Microsoft desires.

But it's crucial for Sony to win it. On the other hand, Sony is broke. Sony has to sell off its insurance division for $2 billion to fund a price cut for PS3.

$1 billion write-off for repair? Losing 2 billion a year on Xbox division? Microsoft says: "no problem! it's just pocket change! We earn $50 billion in revenues and 42 billion in profits this year!" View

Right now we happen to be looking at the *PROOFS* that Sony has indeed put negative edits in the Halo page on Wikipedia. It's the IP address that shows that it's indeed Sony that made the edit.

Unfortunately for Sony, now that WikiScanner has come out, people will be able to trace and check everything Sony did on Wikipedia when they thought they could stay anonymous forever.

I would like to see PROOFS that Microsoft has paid reviewers and shop to bash Sony; otherwise, you guys are just LYING and pulling craps out of your arse. View

Multi-platform games do not hurt 360 - that's because 360 is cheaper than PS3. If a game is on both 360 and PS3, most people will opt to buy the cheaper console to play the multi-platform game.

However, when a PS3 game goes multiplatform, or when a game is multi-platform instead of PS3 exclusive, that does hurt PS3. That's because PS3 is expensive, and it needs more exclusives to justify the $600. If a game is on both PS3 and 360, then there's very little reason for people who just want to play the game to get buy a more expensive console just for the game. View

Resistance, Warhawk, Sigma, Motorstrom are good titles but not great.

Just so you know, because Gears of War and BioShock have garnered so many rave reviews in the gaming circuit, mainstream publications and media like TIME, New York Times, USA Today, Newsweek, CNN, and MSNBC have actually mentioned and reviewed those two games as well. So far, mainstream media and publications have ignore less-than-stellar titles like Heavenly Sword, Lair and Warhawk. Only the bestest video game titles get mentioned by the mainstream.

Now, the average consumers do not read gaming magazines and websites. However, they do read TIME, New York Times, USA Today, Newsweek, CNN, and MSNBC. Only games that get exceptional reviews in gaming magazines and websites get to mentioned by mainstream magazine in a special article. Right now, the mainstream media and publications have just started mentioning BioShock and how it is revolutionary or insightful and worth a look.

Your "average consumers" may not pay attention to gaming magazines and reviews. But they sure do pay attention to TIME, NY Times, USA Today, Newsweek, CNN, and MSNBC. View
