No one got hacked, don't worry. And there is no virus, either. In order to infect a PS3, one would have to get the PS3 to execute malicious code, but as far as I know it's basically impossible (see the PS3 vs. Piracy stuff).
The "hacker" obtained the password either via social engineering (e.g. asking for it ) or via clogger/spyware on victim's PC. Nothing supernatural or reveling about PS3's security here.
